The server moves have been completed and most of your browsers should have propogated over to them by now, you'd know because you will be seeing this update. Luckily these servers are of a higher spec. over the last ones and so lag on the Site and the Forums should be reduced dramatically. That said, there will still likely be some glitches while we configure everything to perfection so please bare with us. Please note that the e-mail system has yet to become fully functional so I'll be unable to respond to any e-mails for the time being As well as the project, I'm working on a much requested Pokédex enhancement regarding Platinum so be sure to check that. It should be up tomorrow or Friday, Monday at the very latest.

Who's That Pokémon

Once again going into the 4th Generation Competitive Battling strategies, we are covering our eighty-fifth Pokémon. The Pokémon being covered today, a ghost Pokémon for Halloween, is Rotom, the Plasma Pokémon. Rotom is a special Pokémon in that in Pokémon Platinum it was given an extra five forms. However, as there's little difference between the forms; one move and stats boosted, we have done all the forms within this one page. Rotom can possess devices and utilise them to boost its power with varied attacks. It was named by Pluto of Team Galactic, who also helped it with the possession of devices after seeing it possess a toy he once had. So here it is, the eighty-fifth featured Pokémon, Rotom.

Ranch: Platinum Update

In The Games Department

My Pokémon Ranch - Platinum Update

A leaflet has hit japanese image boards this morning detailling the various aspects of the upcoming My Pokémon Ranch update that hits Japan next month. This update gives My Pokémon Ranch full compatibility with Pokémon Platinum. It is a free update for those who have already purchased the game, and replaces the current version at the same cost as before. There are various additions to it and they are as follows:

  • Maximum Storage amount upgraded from 1,000 to 1,500
  • Giratina's Origin Forme depositiable
  • Shaymin Sky Forme appears
There is likely even more to it, such as the Rotom forms, but that has yet to be revealed. it is also unknown how Shaymin Sky Forme will work within the game since it reverts to Land Forme when you deposit it into the box in Platinum. It is possible it will automatically change form at random times while in the Ranch in a similar manner to Cherrim & Castform. We'll bring you more on this when it appears

Nintendo has recently confirmed that both the US and the European versions of the upcoming Pokémon Ranger: Shadows of Almia, due for release next month in both regions, will feature the six extra missions, all given over the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection in the same manner as the Japanese Version. It is likely that the release of these missions will be one after another in the same way as the Japanese Release. When we have dates for the missions release, we will post them here. Nintendo DSi

In The Games Department

New DS Model Announced

Nintendo today announced a new DS model at their conference in Japan. This model is called the Nintendo DSi and has a few notable improvements over the Nintendo DS Lite. Notable, media support with an SD card reader and two built in cameras. However, it does lack a GBA slot so those of you who still have Pokémon to send over from the GBA games, do not get rid of your current DS. There is also an online store for it in the same vein as the Wii Shop Channel and uses the same currency for DSiWare. Software on it will cost 0, 200, 500 or 800 points. Could this also be for a GameBoy Virtual Console? (Note; that is speculation on my part). Essentially it is just an improved version of the DS Lite, but with these improvements, it may well be worth getting. It is set for release in Japan on November 1st 2008 with US and EU releases to follow in Early 2009.
