Pokémon Dream Radar provides a new method for capturing Pokémon. It uses the Augmented Reality features of the Nintendo 3DS in order for you to find the Pokémon.

Hunting Pokémon

When you first enter the area, you have the ability to see a radar of the entire area. This showcases the various clouds dotted around, and the depth in which they are. The pink clouds signify power ups while the grey clouds show clouds that may contain Pokémon and/or items. Clouds regenerate by one cloud every five minutes and a grey cloud occurs every fifth cloud

From here, you can move on and access the game to hunt the various Pokémon. You can move around in real time, and the game will track your relative movement.

Pink Clouds - Power Ups

The pink clouds will offer you various power ups. These mostly come in the form of Dream Orbs. These orbs can be used to power up the Dream Tool in order to prepare yourself for legendary Pokémon battles. These can be piled up and exchanged later on for the various power-ups

Grey Clouds - Opponents

The grey clouds within the area will provide another function. When shot, they will release a special orb that will move around. Like the Dream Orbs, your task is to shoot the orb. However, you have a limited time in which to do this and it will quickly move around. Once you have filled up the energy bar for capture, it will be complete

Once captured, you will then be told whether or not you captured a Pokémon, or an item. These Pokémon and items are then transferable to Pokémon Black 2 & White 2. The level of the Pokémon depends upon how many badges you have

Badges Level
0 Level 5
1, 2 Level 10
3, 4 Level 20
5, 6 Level 30
7, 8 Level 40

Legendary Battles

Finally, when you have powered up enough, you will sometimes find a lone cloud in the area. Shoot that and the rare legendary Pokémon, Tornadus, Thundurus or Landorus will appear. Unlike the standard Pokémon, you will see these Pokémon straight out and they will throw attacks at you, which need to be intercepted with your Dorion Beam on Dream Tool.

After you have obtained the Pokémon, it is sendable to Pokémon Black 2 & White 2.
