![]() Frost Rotom, The Plasma Pokémon. Its electric-like body can enter some kinds of machines and take control in order to make mischief. Research continues on this Pokémon, which could be the power source of a unique motor. Its body is composed of plasma. It is known to infiltrate electronic devices and wreak havoc. Overview Arguably the worst but has a niche, Rotom-F is the only Pokémon in the game to get STAB Ice and Electric coverage. Boltbeam is infamous as being amazing, having only a few resists, but Rotom-F gets Blizzard, which in hail has 100% accuracy. Thanks to getting practically perfect coverage, Rotom-F can be an offensive powerhouse and is a great choice on any team... so long as it is a hail team. Yeah, Rotom-F isn't too useful outside of hail. Abilities Levitate: Keeps your safe from Earthquake, Spikes and Toxic Spikes, which is nice considering you're already taking 25% from switching into Stealth Rock. Pretty cool choice bro - Blizzard Blizzard is a 120 base power STAB move with 100% accuracy in hail (which is where you'd be using Rotom-F). It's amazing. It can also freeze, which is nice. Thunderbolt is a great move that completes the pseudo BoltBeam we have going on. However, Volt Switch could be handy, especially if you can keep Stealth Rock off the field. Hidden Power [Fire] kills Ferrothorn, Scizor and Forretress. Hidden Power [Fighting] beats Tyranitar and to an extent Heatran. Trick ideally cripples something important. Dem screens - Reflect Dual screens is a tried and tested method of making an offensive team bulky. Like every other Rotom, Rotom-F can use this tactic. Reflect and Light Screen double the team's defences. Blizzard is mostly useful in hail and combined with an Electric move; Volt Switch scouts and stuff, Thunderbolt hits harder and can paralyse. Pain Split heals you. Subzero - Substitute Substitute keeps you save from damage and status. Charge Beam attacks and increases your Special Attack 70% of the time (60% if you count the 90% accuracy). Blizzard hits crazy hard and gets near perfect coverage with Charge Beam. Pain Split keeps you health and spamming Substitute. Thunderbolt is a stronger Electric move. Hidden Power [Fire] wrecks Ferrothorn and friends. Hidden Power [Fighting] hurts Tyranitar. ResTalk - Rest Rest gives you reliable recovery, and Sleep Talk stops you from being completely vunerable. Discharge can inflict paralysis, which is pretty good. Blizzard hits hard and has perfect accuracy in hail. Will-O-Wisp spreads burn. EVs & Natures Pretty cool choice bro Dem screens Subzero ResTalk Other Options Charge, Dark Pulse, Electro Ball, Shadow Ball, Signal Beam, Thunder Wave, Toxic Double & Triple Battle Options Weak to Rock Slide and Heat Wave, but it brings something new to the table that other formes can't; Blizzard. Blizzard when used on a hail double team can be very effective. It has Discharge and all the tools every other Rotom forme gets, but Blizzard is what sets it apart. Partners Abomasnow and other hail staples are ideal here. Heatran, Gliscor, stuff like that works. Also, a Rapid Spinner is needed; Tentacruel is a good choice. Basically, you want to be able to switch in and out easily and safely, so make sure to have plenty of resists for Rotom-F's unfortunate amount of weaknesses. Countering Frost Rotom Weather really messes with Rotom-F. When it is used, it is used with Blizzard. Without hail, Blizzard is far from ideal. In terms of Pokémon, the standard stuff works... Tyranitar, Forretress, Scizor, Conkeldurr, Mamoswine, Blissey, Chansey, Magnezone, Rotom-F, Rotom-H, Heatran, there are a fair few options. All of these Pokémon can easily switch into the fridge and wall it or beat it. Obviously watch out for Trick and Hidden Power, but otherwise you'll be fine. With Rotom-F's new Ice typing, it invites a load of priority users to come and ruin it. Ferrothorn does well with Leech Seed and Gyro Ball, but watch out for Hidden Power and repeated Blizzards. Outspeeding it and focusing on its weaknesses is a simple but effective way of beating Rotom-F. Terrakion, Lucario, ScarfTran, Mienshao... again, a lot of options. Rotom-F is cool (no pun intended). It might not be the most effective forme, but it's the forme that uses weather the best, right? Oh... that title belongs to Rotom-W. Um... well, it looks cool doesn't it? Looks alright I guess... Yeah, Rotom-F isn't the best forme out there, but it can be very effective in hail, which is where it should be used and where it should stay. Definitely not bad for a fridge though.
