Tangela

Tangela, The Vine Pokémon. It's body is covered in vines that are similar to seaweed. It's vines shake as it walks. It's identity is obscured by it's vines. They are said to never stop growing. The vines are known to un-nerve Tangela's foes. It tangles any moving thing with its vines. Their subtle shaking is tickling if you get snared. In battle it always moves it's vines to annoy it's opponents. It's vines snap off easily if grabbed. This happens without causing Tangela pain allowing for it to getaway quickly. The lost vines are grown back the very next day

Battle Moveset

A Good Moveset for Tangela would have to be this:

Attacks:

Sunny Day
Synthesis
Solarbeam
Toxic

Items Attached:

Leftovers

Preferred Nature:

Impish

Strategy Using Tangela

Tangela has great defense and special attack, so thusly, it can be used as a few things, this is a mixed annoyer/sweeper of sorts.
Taking into account Tangela's ability, Cholorphyll, I decided to centre this set around Sunny day. As you know, Solarbeam only needs one turn to be launched while under the effects of Sunny day.
Synthesis also restores more HP during Sunny day and can be quite useful if your HP is running low. Adding Toxic into the mix also helps with the slow reduction of your opponent's HP which will eventually knock them out.
However, this set may have troubles against Steel types, so its entirely plausible to replace Toxic with HP Fire to cover those types.
Another thing to note is the low special defense it has, so most special attacks could do quite a bit of damage, if it doesn't knock it out.
If you want to beat Tangela, attack with Fire and Ice type moves. This should do the most effective damage towards Tangela.

EV Corner:

Max out the EVs in Defense & HP for Tangela with any remaining in Special Attack

Strategy Against Tangela

Tangela has incredibly high Physical Defense but it's Special Defense is below Average so any Special Volley should take it down. Fire, Flying & Ice Attacks should work wonders.

A good Contest Moveset for Tangela would have to be this for the Smart Contest best with Calm, Gentle, Careful, Sassy Nature:

Leech Seed
Giga Drain
Stunspore
Poison Powder
