Battle Moveset

The best Moveset for Ampharos would have to be this:

Thunderbolt
Reflect
Toxic
Hidden Power Ice

Quick Claw

Preferred Nature:

Modest

Strategy Using Ampharos

Well, I feel kind of bad for Ampharos, it didn't do anything to deserve such a horrible movepool, but it has been given it. I basically sat looking at the list of moves for Amphy for a good 20 minutes, hoping something would pop up. Ice beam, fire punch, anything really, but no, it stayed the same. So, I had to devise this set! Oh, and that alone took me another 20 minutes, but finally this is what I came to. Thunderbolt is basically its most important move. It is the main weapon on our friend here, it will do most of the killing as has by far the highest power alongside its 1.5 bonus from STAB. Now, I don't like giving out Hidden Power sets in PotD, because they are extremely hard to get, but sadly this is sorely needed. I will tell you now, unless you play strictly for fun, if you cannot get HP Ice on amphy, don't use it, you will only end in heartbreak. Reflect was a toss up between that and Light Screen, I choose Reflect to give some protection against physical attacks, and if it doesn't get knocked out in one hit, its trait, static, might prove useful. Toxic is a filler, pure and simple. There really isn't anything els you can put on it and be anywhere effective
It's attack at max is barely usable, and given EVs now adays, you will most likely not be maxed out, thus giving you a horrible max attack, so none of its many physical attack for it, poor Amphy. Toxic could prove useful every once in awhile, but by all means, if you don't like it, try other combos out. Quick Claw is there because, well, being the slowest electric pokemon is never a good thing. Atleast now itll have some chance of going first. I feel the need to apologize for giving such a lackluster set today, Ampharos has had a severe cut down from its underused usefulness in G/S/C, but I guess not every pokemon can have a great movepool...

EV Corner: Put all the EVs you can into Special Attack and HP, its going to need them.

If you have complaints about this set and description please e-mail me at sirchristheknight@yahoo.com, thanks!

Strategy Against Ampharos

Well, we have a slow and physically proned pokemon. Juse use fast pokemon with EarthQuake to make short work of it, most grounds basically laugh at Amphy for starters, or anything with great attack will do nicely. Not that hard to counter.

Contest Moveset

The best Moveset for Ampharos would have to be this for the Cool Contest best with Lonely, Adament, Naughty or Brave Nature:

Attacks:

Charge
Thunderbolt
Thunder
Thunder Wave

Items Attached:

Red Scarf

Strategy Using Ampharos

ll four moves are part of an interchangable combo set. Charge, despite it being a smart move can earn triple points if the last foe's move was the same type as yours. Thunderbolt just earns appeal points, Thunderwave removes 50% of points from all pokemon that earned points. and Thunderremoves points from pokemon other than Ampharos or any other pokemon with that move.

Animé Appearences

Ampharos has had few Animé Appearences. Firstly, it was owned by Jasmine, the Olivine City Gym Leader and was used in the Lighthouse...however it got sick and Ash had to get some medicine for it. After that, it was in the area of the Electricity Crystal and after that, Watto from Mauville Gym used it in a battle against May's Skitty
