For the eighth movie in July 2005, a new Half Deck was released for the card game. Continuing on from the standard set the previous three years, these cards also featured many Pokémon owned by various trainers or places and are Basic Pokémon, thus continuing the Pokémon VS card set. The Pokémon in this set are based upon the Pokémon in the movie; Lucario & The Mystery of Mew. As such, this set features continues the showcasing of the fourth generation Pokémon prior to their release in Diamond & Pearl.
