Pokémon GO

Some new details have been released for the upcoming Smartphone title, Pokémon GO. In the game, you raise level as a trainer and when you reach higher levels, you can find rarer and more powerful Pokémon. Your trainer level also gains you access to more powerful items such as the Great Ball. PokéStops exist in real life as monuments where you can find various items.
To evolve Pokémon, you have to catch the same species of Pokémon multiple times. You can also find Pokémon Eggs at PokéStops which hatch while you walk around in the game. When hatched, it may be a Pokémon you have yet to see in the game.
As stated before, wild Pokémon will vary depending on location. The example given is for Water-type Pokémon typically being found near the oceans.
When you reach a certain point in the game, you'll be asked to join one of three teams. When joined, you can set one of your Pokémon to various locations such as gyms around the world. Each player can only put one Pokémon at a gym, with multiple players being able to put a Pokémon at the gym. If a Gym is owned by another player's team, you can challenge the gym to claim control. There's also a wide variety of challenges to accomplish in the game. Pre-Release Screenshots have been added to our page
Edit @ 14:33: There appears to be a feature that will let you turn off the camera part of the game where Pokémon would appear in real life surroundings to include a virtual backdrop.

Pokémon GO

During the South by Southwest convention in Austin, Texas, otherwise known as SXSW, John Hanke of Niantics Lab held a panel on augmented reality gaming and within this panel, it appears that the first footage of Pokémon GO has been shown. During this footage, an overlay of Google maps was shown with a trainer and Ivysaur. This then instigated a battle using augmented reality with the camera to catch an Ivysaur. PokéBalls were thrown before switching to a Master Ball where it was caught. The footage also indicated about usage of Crystals. The usage of them is not currently known, but we'll provide more details on that, as well as this game, as it comes.
Edit @ 23:21: Twitter user TomWoodhead has posted an image which showcased the map even clearer. In the distance, some symbols can be seen that match the Pokémon Gym symbols from the main series

The official website has posted some full instructions on how to activate LAN Battle mode in Pokkén Tournament for Wii U, ahead of its launch on Friday. LAN Battle allows you to do local multiplayer without having the game's frame rate drop from 60fps to 30fps. There are three different routes that can be taken. Here are the requirements for each one:
Route ARoute BRoute C
2 Wii Us
2 Pieces of Software
2 TVs*
2 Wii U LAN Adapters
2 Straight LAN Cables

Go into the settings for the connection and change the IP to 192.168.000.001 (or 192.168.000.002 on the second Wii U), Subnet Mask to 255.255.255.000 and Default Gateway to 192.168.000.050. For the DNS settings, set it as Do not automatically obtain and set Primary DNS to 1.0.0.0. Save the settings.
To activate LAN Battle in the game, you have to hold down L, R & Down on the D-Pad on the title screen. You can select the controller here
Edit @ 10:03: It is also confirmed that there will be a day one patch, Version 1.1, which will be required to access online functionaity for the game. It requires 370MB of space to download
