When you encounter the Pokémon, they will offer to play a game with you. These games are the method you use to befriend the Pokémon. Completion of the mini-games nets you 20 Dream Points and the score you get will decide whether or not the Pokémon will have a special move when you transfer it. This page is to detail the minigames within the Dream World and offer a variety of tips to get the best score.

This minigame will have you controlling a Wailord with your mouse. here, you have to shoot various Pokémon upwards using the water from Wailord's spout and make them hit the balls which factor in. Piplup hits blue balls, Pikachu hits yellow balls, Buizel hits orange balls and Meowth hits brown balls. To complete the game, you need to have hit at least 15 correct balls.

in order to score higher, you will need to hit more balls without allowing for any of the Pokémon to fall in, allowing for you to collect up various combos. There is a 1 minute 30 second time limit for play in this game.

Search for Pokémon

This minigame will start off by giving you a random Pokémon to look for. You have to navigate a randomised maze looking for the Pokémon. The Pokémon, like the Pokémon in Dream Isle, will be hiding within various parts of the scenery and you'll need to click them to make the Pokémon exit. In addition to that, there is a button in the bottom right that will allow you to listen for a cry. If the cry matches the Pokémon, then you know for sure that the Pokémon is in the area. Various other Pokémon will be found, but you need to find the specific Pokémon within the time limit. You score higher the quicker you find the Pokémon.

In addition to this, you may find an item within the maze. Collect this and you'll get a further 5,000 points to your total.

Sky Race

This minigame is a simple race where you control a Pelipper using your mouse. This game requires you to collect the blue water capsules while avoiding the yellow electric ones. As you collect more, your speed will increase. Each capsule is worth 300 points and getting three in a row will give you a bonus of 1,000 points. When you have reached maximum speed, each capsule is then 450 points.

However, there are numerous obstacles. First, the electric bolts will stop you and remove 100 points from your tally whenever they hit. They will also severely hinder your speed. Clouds will slow you down but at no point reduction. The time you spend on the course will also help determine the points you get at the end of the race.

Drink Serving

This new game is accessed solely within the Pokémon Café island and has you have to control a Foongus to carry various drinks to the clients at the Pokémon Café. This is scored based upon your speed and skill in serving the drinks. If you serve a correct drink, you get 4,300 points. If you serve a spilled drink, you get 750 points and if you serve the wrong drink, you get 120. If however, you serve the special jug drink, you get 4,300 points. It later became available with Pokémon in Icy Cave

Treasure Hunt

This new game is accessed solely within the Pokémon Movie island and has you have control Victini through an area filled with rocks. Here, you need to find the various bonuses in order to allow Reshiram/Zekrom to take out the barriers. However, in many cases, the bonuses are behind rocks which require you to get the special boost which allows Victini to crash through the rocks. Each rock gives 300 points and each bonus gives 100 points. If all barriers are broken, you can get a C-Gear skin. It later became available, with you playing as Charizard, when you enter the Icy Cave area.

Blow Out Candles

This new game is accessed within the Spooky Manor area of the game. In this minigame, your task is to extinguish the candles but make your opponent extinguish the last candle where possible. As such, you have to think strategically. When you select a candle, you have the ability of selecting each of its neighbours horizontally allowing you to extinguish them. Once you've selected them, hit "Blow Out" and it estinguishes them and goes to the computer's turn. If you manage to make the opponent's extinguish the last candle, then you get a gold star.

There are four different kinds of candle to burn out. First, there's the standard candle. Next, there's a golden flame which gives you more points and a blue flame which gives you less points. If you see a large flame, it takes two goes to extinguish it. Once the timer is up, you will get scored on your success. Gain over 5,000 points to befriend a Pokémon.

This new game is accessed within the Rugged Mountain area of the game. In this minigame, your task is to get gems while controlling a mine-cart which has Sabeleye on it. There are various tracks you can go on, changed by drawing the specific icon of the track you wish to get. Sometimes, you will find tracks with entrances to caves which hold bonuses. If you hit a bush, it will slow you down and you'll lose some gems

Standard gems give you 500 points, Star Gems give you 1000 points and you get 200 points for each second you're early in the game.

Scoop Ice Cream

This minigame has you use one of your collected berries in order to make ice cream. The task here is to make a sufficiently large tower of ice cream. However, in order to get the best points, you will need to mix and match the ice cream. To get larger scoops, hold the mouse button down on the ice cream area and the scoop will sufficiently grow. Then, place the scoop on your pile and allow it to stick and hold. Placing down larger scoops of ice cream on smaller ones will cause the tower to be potentially unstable. If you match all three types together in a good way, you'll be able to collect bonus multipliers. You have 1 minute 30 seconds in order to get your tower as big as you can

The berry you use is key in order to try and create the tower. Each berry gives you three different ice cream styles which have varying statistics for both the speed it takes to grow in size and the Stickiness of the scoop itself, showing whether or not it'll be able to stay stable when placed down.
