Move Tutors

Like previous games, Pokémon Heart Gold & Soul Silver have a variety of Move Tutors. These move tutors will teach your Pokémon a special move for a price and can be taught as many times as you want. This page details all of the Move Tutors within these games.

Ilex Forest - Headbutt

The first move tutor you will discover is the Headbutt tutor in Ilex Forest. This tutor is the only move tutor in the game whom will teach your Pokémon the move for free. You can come back at any time to teach your Pokémon Headbutt. Headbutt is used in the field to allow for you to shake trees in order to obtain wild Pokémon

Blackthorn City - Elemental Beams

The next tutor you'll meet is in Blackthorn City. In this house, you will find the Move Deleter, Move Relearner and this man who will teach your Pokémon one of three attacks depending on what they are. The only Pokémon that can learn these moves are the starters from each region and their evolutions and only when they have reached a certain level of happiness

Frontier Front

In the Frontier Front, you will find a house where three men dwell. If you speak to these men, they will offer you several choices for Move Tutor moves. Unlike Headbutt however, these tutors require you to pay in order to obtain them. The charge is in Battle Points earned through the Battle Frontier.

The bottom-right move tutor teaches you these moves;
