The Battle Tower

Continuing the tradition set in Crystal, there is a special facility in the local region where you can truly test your Pokemon battling skills, and that's none other than the Battle Tower! A few things differ between this Battle Tower and the one in Johto however - be sure to know what's changed before heading into the fray. The first thing you should note is that there are no level increments of 10, 20, etc... anymore, the Battle Tower is Lv. 50 or Lv. 100 only. This can be a bit of a restriction as your Pokemon are not auto-levelled to either of these levels for the battle. You must face rounds of seven trainers before a break.

Modes

Like in Crystal, battling in the Battle Tower will win you special battle prizes not found anywhere else in the game. There are 10 Pokémon that are not usable inside the Battle Tower. They are as follows; Mewtwo, Mew, Lugia, Ho-Oh, Celebi, Kyogre, Groudon, Rayquaza, Jirachi, Deoxys

There are three battle modes you can play, Singles, Doubles, and Multi. Singles function as a standard 3v3 match, Doubles are a double battle 4v4, and Multi, which can only be done with a linked up friend, run similar to Multi battles in the Cable Club at the Pokemon Center - two teams divided by four trainers, one Pokemon permitted to each.
