February 2007 News

I know I know, it is not like me to leave updating so long, however as I have repeatedly mentioned, Uni is really busy at the moment. I have 3 assignments due in over the course of this weekend, 2 the next weekend and 2 a fortnight after that. That said, I will try and get something done for the site tomorrow, it all depends how much Uni work I get done, but if I don't, then on Friday the Episode Pictures will still appear. However, to put some of you at ease, my massive University Project that I've been continually working on is related to the site so it isn't as if I'm neglecting the site.

New US Name

Almost 2 weeks after the commencement of Toy Fair, we finally have the final new Pok�mon name that was revealed there. Hidden within the realms of obscurity in many of the Pictures, many people do not even realise that this Pok�mon was showcased. The Pok�mon is this flowery fellow; Cherimu. Like Roserade, Pachirisu & Lucario among others, Cherimu keeps its Japanese Name's Fully Romanised state and its US name is Cherrim Click below for Cherrim's Pok�dex Page:

New US Name and Ability Name

Earlier today, Pokemon.com revealed another new Pok�mon name, for Roselia's Evolution; Roserade. Like Roselia, it keeps the fully romanised form of its Japanese Name. Pokemon.com also revealed the name of Chatot's new ability, which it shares with Pidgey's Line; No longer is it Unstable Gait, but Tangled Feet. Click below for Roserade's Pok�dex Page:

A Little bit of note, the Official site is reporting Turtwig's Ability as Chlorophyll, however the in game code clearly states its Overgrow. It is slightly possible but they changed it but it is not likely that that would happen so they are reporting inaccurately. We'll get back to you on this one

At Toy Fair, as you know if you have been following our coverage here, many names were revealed, some of which have been elusive to us, that we are still trying to obtain, others weren't clear so we were going on assumptions. Well one of these ones we ended up assuming has since been confirmed. We originally thought it was Shelios or Snelios, however it has been confirmed that it is in fact Shellos. Pochama's US Name

A piece of Merchandise at Toy Fair claimed Pochama's US name was Pochama. However, another item at Toy Fair is in conflict with that, the item of which all the other names we obtained on Monday. This name for Pochama is apparently Piplup. This is not 100% confirmed but it fits in with the merchandise. #491 - Darkrai Revealed

Today CoroCoro has officially revealed the first of the event Pok�mon; Darkrai. Darkrai is set to feature in the upcoming 10th Pok�mon movie set to feature Dialga & Palkia. Its role in the film is not yet known. Click below to go to Darkrai's Pok�dex page

Many More US Names

As some of the more informed of you would know, the 2007 Toy Fair in New York started yesterday and goes on until Wednesday. There, Jakks Pacific revealed many new Pok�mon Toys, many of which contained many new Pok�mon Names. Apart from confirming the previous revelations of names made at Serebii.net over the last 2 months, Two of the ones we are absolutely sure about are for two of the three starter Pok�mon. Naetoru is now known is Turtwig, derived from Turtle and Twig...a rather fitting name, and Hikozaru is now known as Chimchar, derived from Chimp and Charred...another fitting name. From the looks of another piece of merchandise, Pochama keeps its Japanese Name. Mukkuru's name appears to be Starly, based upon the fact it is a Starling. Koroboshi's US name is Kricketot, which plays on the fact it is a baby Cricket. Pachirisu and Floatzel keep their Japanese Names, although Floatsel changes slightly to match the changes utilised in Buizel Also, Mimiroru has been revealed to be Buneary, Nyaruma is Glameow, Pinpuku is Happini, Gregguru's name is Croalurk, based upon Croak and Lurking and Masukippa as Carnivine, based on Carnivore and Vine. Like our exclusive reveal of the Chatot name in December and Mantyke & Buizel last month, I am happy to exclusively reveal the US Name for Elekible, the evolved form of Electabuzz. Elekible's US Name is Electivire. Derived from Electricity, Wire and likely Voltage, it helps signify the point that Electivire is an Electric Pok�mon and the Wires it has coming out of its back.
