As you travel around the real world, wild Pokémon will appear and require capture. This is done using the touch screen of the mobile device, and can have the real world as a backdrop using the device's camera. Real life locations are also used as PokéStops and Gyms for battle. An accessory was released, the Pokémon GO Plus, that allowed for play without accessing the mobile device. The Trading Card Game added more new mechanics in line with Scarlet & Violet, adding new Pokémon-ex back into the game, with the added element of Terastal Pokémon. It also featured a shift in the western arm where the borders were changed to match the silver Japanese borders.
