Moltres

Moltres, The Flame Pokémon. The Legendary Bird Of Fire. Every flap of it's wings creates a dazzling flash of flames, it would turn the night sky red. It is a thrilling site to behold. It is said to bring early spring to the wintery lands it visits. It is said to migrate from the south along with the spring. If it gets injured, it is said to dip it's body into molten magma in volcano's to heal.

Battle Moveset

A Good Moveset for Moltres would have to be this:

Attacks:

Sunny Day
Fire Blast
Toxic
Hidden Power Grass OR Roar

Items Attached:

Salac Berry

Preferred Nature:

Timid

Strategy Using Moltres

Moltres, although is a legendary, has a really small movepool which cannot take advantage of its special attack.

Before I go into too much detail, the fourth move has been limited because of the movepool. Some people don't like Hidden Power Grass, and its very unlikely you will be able to get HP Grass on Moltres, since its unable to breed and appears once in the game.

Although its not as effective as a Toxic + whirlwind shuffler, Toxic + Roar does the same thing, except it doesn't work on Sound proof pokemon.

You can even replace Roar with a physical attack if you want too, but I would suggest a different nature, but Why a Physical attack you may ask, well, its attack strength isn't bad and it learns quite a bit of physical attacks too.

But the choice is down to personal preference. With toxic + roar, the problem that it has with steel types is cancelled out by the Sunny day + fire blast combo, which allows you to take down most steel type pokemon in one hit.

As a Legendary, Moltres has been given a lot of flaws, in my opinion, since its 4x weak to rock, and since Rock slide will be a common move on many teams, Moltres will have some problems to deal with. It will have to rely on speed if it is going to make any sort of impact on your opponent.

It also has weaknesses to water and electric type moves too. For a supposed legendary, it doesn't have the most moves available to it, and moves that could take advantage of that high special attack. It still has a moveset that will work well with it though, since Fire blast, its only attacking move, gains STAB.

EV Corner:

Max out the EVs in Speed & Special Attack for Moltres with any remaining in HP

Strategy Against Moltres

Moltres's Special Defense is suprisingly lower than it's Physical, but still rather stong so if you attack with Water or Rock attacks, it'll be down in no time

Contest Moveset

A good Contest Moveset for Moltres would have to be this for the Cool Contest best with Lonely, Adament, Naughty or Brave Nature:

Attacks:

Aerial Ace
Roar
Sky Attack
Hyper Beam

Items Attached:

Red Scarf

Strategy Using Moltres

If you do the attacks in this following order you should have very few problems; 1st - Aerial ace, 2nd - Roar, 3rd - Sky attack, 4th - Aerial ace, 5th - Hyper beam

Animé Appearences

Moltres has had several Animé Appearences. First, there was a large robot of it on a theme park owned by Giovanni. After that, when it's flame was stolen, it appeared to get it back. After that, Lawrence III stole one to try and awake Lugia and after that, James found out his star sign was Moltres.
