Scizor, The Pincer Pokémon. Its wings are not used for flying. They are flapped at high speed to adjust its body temperature. It swings its eye.patterned pincers up to scare its foes. This makes it look like it has three heads. It's pincers, which contain steel, can crush any hard object it gets a hold of into bits. It has a body with the hardness of steel. It is not easily fazed by ordinary sorts of attacks.
Battle Moveset
A Good Moveset for Scizor would have to be this:
Attacks:
Silver Wind
Baton Pass
Substitute OR Agility
Swords Dance
Items Attached:
LeftOvers
Preferred Nature:
Impish
Strategy Using Scizor
Scizor is in the same situation as Forretress, type
wise, giving it one weakness (fire types). Even though
it loses speed when it evolves from Scyther, it makes
up for this with the type combination and boosts in
attack and defense.
As its mentioned in the counters for Scizor, Scizor
can make an effective Endure/Reversal pokemon (For
this, I suggest Scizor@Salac berry, Jolly nature, 252
speed EV's). As for this set, Baton passing is
something that Scizor should be able to do very well.
To make Scizor much more of a physical wall, put 252
EV's into defense instead of Special defense, though
either work since Scizor only has one Super effective
weakness. Silver wind is very useful for the 10%
chance of boosting all stats, it will also gain STAB
and coming from that already high attack, its useful
if you've got no pokemon to baton pass to (i.e. if
Scizor is your last pokemon). Silver wind becomes even
more powerful with the help of Swarm.
Substitute allows you to stall for time while you're
boosting stats. Though Agility is an equally viable
move, since its no good if you baton pass attack to a
potential sweeper if its knocked out before it can
sweep.
EV Corner:
Max out the EVs in HP and Special Defense for Scizor with any remaining in Defense
Strategy Against Scizor
Scizor is one of the better Baton Passers in the game,
capable of doubling as a physical wall at the same
time.
- There is only one hole in the armour of this
oversized Mantis impersonator, Fire attacks. With a
glaring 4x Fire Weakness even pathetic Nosepass armed
with Fire Punch (I keep mentioning him because he has
been pretty handy so far ^_^) will take huge chunks
off of Scizor's HP. Fire attacks teamed with some form
of trapping (preferably Magnet Pull, which is only
available only to the Magneton family and Nosepass)
will spend an end to Scizor, however, be sure to have
a 'Always strikes first' attack on your team because
occasionally, you'll find Scizor uses Endure with
Reversal, and that teamed with Agility can cause many
problems.
- If you are unable to hit it with a Fire Attack,
always be sure to hit the lower Special Defence with
Electric and Water attacks, since Scizor's physical
defence is by no means weak.
- Be sure to figure out which role Scizor is playing.
It makes a decent user of Reversal, since it is immune
to both Sandstorm (kills the "Switch in Tyranitar"
tactic) and Toxic as well as being a good Baton passer
with access to three very good stat raising moves
(Iron Defense, Agility, Sword Dance [No! Double Team
is not good!]) and Silver Wind. If you can't 1KO it
but you know it's a Baton Passer, use combinations of
Hazing and Attacking to wear it down and if you know
it's using Reversal, send out a ghost type/Pokémon
with Quick Attack (and the like) to finish it off.
Contest Moveset
A good Contest Moveset for Scizor would have to be this for the Tough Contest best with Impish, Lax, Relaxed or Bold Nature:
Attacks:
Sunny Day
Flamethrower
Fire Blast
Hyper Beam
Items Attached:
Yellow Scarf
Strategy Using Scizor
If you do the attacks in this following order you should have very few problems; 1st - swords dance, 2nd - Rock smash, 3rd -
Swords dance, 4th - Rock smash, 5th - Aerial ace
