Stantler, The Big Horn Pokémon. Those who stare at its antlers will gradually lose control of their senses and be unable to stand. The curved antlers subtly change the flow of air to create a strange space where reality is distorted. The round balls found on the fallen antlers can be ground into a powder that aids in sleeping. It's magnificent antlers were traded at high prices as works of art. As a result, it was hunted close to extinction by those who were after the priceless antlers. Battle Moveset A Good Moveset for Stantler would have to be this: Attacks:
Swagger Items Attached: Salac Berry Preferred Nature: Adamant Strategy Using Stantler To avoid repetition of Choice-banders, this pokemon has been given a slightly more risky moveset to use. Even though Stantler has a varied movepool which it can use, its defenses and HP however, are lacking. Swagger and Psych up work together, confusing your opponents pokemon while boosting its attack, Psych up copies this stat increase to boost Stanters attack strength. Being a normal type, Stantler can use Return effectively due to the increase from STAB and will do a lot of damage with the boost in attack. Shadow ball obviously covers the types that Return does not hit. The Choice banding Stantler however, can allow for more variation in its offensive moves, such as: Earthquake, Return, Shadow ball, Hidden Power Physical such as Rock or Flying. Stantler's movepool even allows it to be a special sweeper, though it isn't as powerful as the above two movesets (Calm mind, Tbolt/Sunny day, HP ice/HP Fire, Filler/Solarbeam, though without STAB, the damage it deals won't be that great) EV Corner: Max out the EVs in Attack & Speed for Stantler with any remaining in HP Strategy Against Stantler Stantler has overall below average defences and HP, however its move pool can be varied in many ways and both offensive stats are above average and therefore, usable. Not only that, but it also has access to annoyance moves, including status afflicters like Hypnosis and Thunder Wave as well as Confusion inducers such as Swagger and Confuse Ray. - One simple way around Stantler, hit it fast and hard. Contest Moveset A good Contest Moveset for Stantler would have to be this for the Tough Contest best with Impish, Lax, Relaxed or Bold Nature: Attacks:
Confuse Ray Items Attached: Yellow Scarf Strategy Using Stantler If you do the attacks in this following order you should have very few problems; 1st - Confuse Ray, 2nd - Swift, 3rd - Confuse Ray, 4th - Swift, 5th - Psychic Locations in Games
