Salamence

Salamence, The Dragon Pokémon. It becomes uncontrollable if it is enraged. It destroys everything with shredding claws and fire. It came about as a result of a strong, long-held dream of growing wings. It is said that this powerful desire triggered a sudden mutation in it's cells, causing it to sprout its magnificent wings. To express its joy, it flies and wheels all over the sky while spouting flames from its mouth.

Battle Moveset

A Good Moveset for Salamence would have to be this:

Attacks:

Dragon Dance
Aerial Ace
Hidden Power Rock OR Rock Slide
Earthquake

Items Attached:

Lum Berry

Preferred Nature:

Adamant

Strategy Using Salamence

Salamence has some of the highest stats in game, with impressive attack, special attack and speed. Its movepool is varied and can be used as a physical sweeper, special sweeper or a mixed sweeper. Dragon dance works excellently with the physical sweeping set, since it raises attack and speed. The need for a pinch berry like Liechi or Salac has been made redundant by Dragon dance, so therefore, Lum berry would be more suitable to prevent status effects such as paralysis.
You may want to include Fire Blast/Flamethrower in this set if you want a Steel type physical wall counter (i.e. Steelix, Skarmory), though it isn't needed.
There's two choices for the second slot, Aerial ace or HP flying (if you don't want HP rock, though HP rock > Rock slide because of the accuracy), simply because HP flying deals more damage.
The main reason for HP rock is useful to deal with Ice types and would be a good counter to Zapdos (though if that Zapdos is using HP Ice, then you're pretty much screwed).
I'm pretty sure that Salamence is overused, so your team should have something that can counter it. Besides for being overpowered, it has a 4x weakness to ice.

EV Corner:

Max out the EVs in Attack and HP for Salamence with any remaining in Defense

Strategy Against Salamence

Salamence is one of the most feared Pokémon in the advanced generation, possessing all stats at average or above. He can be mixed and matched to be either a Special or Physical Sweeper and has the ability to use forms of attacks effectively in the same move set.
- With a Base Speed of 110 not many Pokémon can outrun it, and considering most Ice types aren't fast you aren't likely to hit with the 4x effective Ice Beam with STAB. Fortunately, STAB isn't required to KO Salamence so something such as Hidden Power Ice from a Jolteon will more than likely KO it.
- Alternatively, rather than 1KOing it, you could go for crippling it. A simple Will-o-Wisp or Thunder Wave will destroy its sweeping ability, cutting its speed or attack in half (the latter of which coming with the excess advantage in the fact that it cuts its striking chances in half).

Contest Moveset

A good Contest Moveset for Salamence would have to be this for the Beauty Contest best with Modest, Mild, Rash or Quiet Nature:

Attacks:

Sunny Day
Aerial Ace
Flamethrower
Hyper Beam

Items Attached:

Blue Scarf

Strategy Using Salamence

If you do the attacks in this following order you should have very few problems; 1st - Aerial ace, 2nd - Sunny day, 3rd - Flamethrower, 4th - Aerial ace, 5th - Hyper beam
