Dewgong, The Sea Lion Pokémon. It loves to snooze on bitterly cold ice. The sight of it sleeping on a glacier was mistakenly thought to be a mermaid by a mariner long ago. Its body is covered with a pure white fur. The colder the weather, the more active it becomes. It stores thermal energy in the body. It swims at a steady eight knots even in intensely cold waters. Battle Moveset A Good Moveset for Dewgong would have to be this: Attacks:
Surf Items Attached: Leftovers Preferred Nature: Modest OR Calm Strategy Using Dewgong Dewgong doesn't get much in the way of move options. It's definitely an NU team only type of Pokémon. About the best thing it's got is Encore, which can screw up some slower Pokémon who are using non-offensive moves. Toxic can work out decently and helps out stall other water-types, Thief can steal your opponent's item, Sub can block an attack and statuses and Rest… is well, handy. Perish Song is an interesting option and can work nicely with triple Spikes laid down, but it won't get anything killed with a lack of Mean Look or other form of trapping move. EV Corner:
EVs: 124 HP / 16 Def / 100 Spd / 252 SAtk / 18 SDef Has enough speed to outrun the standard Dragon Dancers and Agility users prior to buffing, a passable special attack stat and passable (by NU standards) defences.
EVs: 252 HP / 70 Def / 188 SDef Special defensive set up. Will do ok at tanking normally effective special hits but can't exactly do much to the majority of special attackers. Other Optional Sets
Dewgong @ Leftovers Sleep-Talk preserves the PP of your 2 OHKOs. Don't use this set in general, OHKOs require no talent and are purely based on luck, but sadly enough this is probably Dewgong's most useful set (which says a lot for it). Strategy Against Dewgong It has a nice array of weaknesses to pick on: Fighting, Rock, Electric and Grass. It's defences are also rather shabby. It can't do much in the way of offence except for the OHKO set so stat boosters who aren't weak to Ice or Water can set up on it easily. Contest Moveset A good Contest Moveset for Dewgong would have to be this for the Beauty Contest best with Modest, Mild, Rash or Quiet Nature: Attacks:
Hail Items Attached: Blue Scarf Strategy Using Dewgong If you do the attacks in this following order you should have very few problems; 1st - Hail, 2nd - Blizzard, 3rd - Hail, 4th - Ice beam, 5th - Hyper beam Locations in Games
