Milotic, The Tender Pokémon. It is said to be the most beautiful of all the POKéMON. It has the power to becalm such emotions as anger and hostility to quell bitter feuding. It livse at the bottom of large lakes. When it's body glows a vivid pink, it releases a pulsing wave of energy that brings soothing calm to restless spirits. Considered to be the most beautiful of all Pokémon, it has been depicted in paintings and statues. It is breathtakingly beautiful. Those that see it are said to forget their combative spirits. Battle Moveset A Good Moveset for Milotic would have to be this: Attacks:
Surf Items Attached: Leftovers Preferred Nature: Bold Strategy Using Milotic Milotic is a generally good double wall. It has plenty of special defence, solid defence, only two weaknesses and Recover. It's defence can become near impenetrable with the aid of its trait Marvel Scale, unique to Milotic only, and makes Milotic perfectly suitable for switching into Thunder Waves and Will-o-Wisps. With hypnosis the above set is the generally preferred standard. Hypnosis may have low accuracy but it hits often enough to be worth use and Milotic has the defences to miss with it. Missing once or twice tends to worth it for incapacitating your opponent. It has a couple of other options, the most popular of which is Mirror Coat for surprise retaliations against Electric and Grass attacks (needs a fair amount of prediction to be successful however). Light Screen is a generally good move and can help out the rest of your team as well as. Hidden Power Electric and Toxic can help you beat opposing water types (and Hidden Power Electric helps versus Gyarados who would beat you otherwise) and Psych Up allows you to out-stall Calm Minders one on one (well, in reality it just becomes a "who will crit first?" war) and can give Curse-Lax some problems. EV Corner:
EVs: 84 HP / 252 Def / 12 Spd / 106 SAtk / 56 SDef There's many variations to the Milotic spread but the thing that holds true for most is to have Max Defence, since Milotic tends to be people's counters to Dragon Dance Salamence among other things. How you designate the rest of the EVs is up to personal preference but a few Speed EVs is always helpful for outrunning stuff that lingers at 198/200 Speed (one of the optimal speed stats for stuff using Dragon Dance, Agility and Chlorophyll/Swift Swim-Sunny Day/Rain Dance), a little special defence is also obviously helpful since Milotic is a special wall, although at base it has enough to wall successfully. Other Optional Sets:
Milotic @ Leftovers Has Marvel Scale up all the time, can freely absorb Sleep status for your team and can be very difficult to take down. The main fault of this set is the randomness of Sleep Talk and how unreliable it can be. Strategy Against Milotic Gyarados easily sets up on Milotic, Taunt any attempts at Hypnosis and Dragon Dance to its heart's content while Milotic tries (and fails) to Ice Beam. The majority of Electric types can 2KO it and will make Milo run if it hasn't got Mirror Coat, special mentions of course going to Lanturn who laughs at any Surfs or Ice Beams it takes coming into play. Most Water types can enter a stall-fest with it if Milo doesn't have Hidden Power or Toxic and Toxic-ing Milotic severely hurts its ability to wall for any longer than a couple of turns and could be considered worth the sacrifice of activating its marvel scale. Stuff like Calm Mind-Recover Celebi and Alakazam can set up on it easily and will beat it one on one if they don't get critted/frozen, provided said Milotic doesn't carry Psych Up (and the majority don't). Contest Moveset A good Contest Moveset for Milotic would have to be this for the Beauty Contest best with Modest, Mild, Rash or Quiet Nature: Attacks:
Rain dance Items Attached: Blue Scarf Strategy Using Milotic If you do the attacks in this following order you should have very few problems; 1st - Rain dance, 2nd - Surf, 3rd - Hail, 4th - Ice Beam, 5th - Surf Locations in Games
