It has been announced that the Aura Pok�mon, Lucario, has been confirmed as a playable character in the upcoming Wii U and Nintendo 3DS games, Super Smash Bros for Wii U & Super Smash Bros for Nintendo 3DS. This marks his return from a character in the 2008 hit, Super Smash Bros Brawl. His moves are not currently known, nor is it known if Mega Lucario will make an appearance. The full details of the registration of the Beta Competition have been revealed. This competition has a special option where you can request an invite if you did not participate in the 2013 Global Showdown in July last year. On the official ite, you can go and request an invitation between now and February 6th. If you are accepted, you will be notified on February 14th. It also reconfirmed that you cannot use Mewtwo, Mew, Lugia, Ho-Oh, Celebi, Kyogre, Groudon, Rayquaza, Jirachi, Deoxys, Dialga, Palkia, Giratina, Phione, Manaphy, Darkrai, Shaymin, Arceus, Victini, Reshiram, Zekrom, Kyurem, Keldeo, Meloetta, Genesect, Xerneas, Yveltal, or Zygarde in this tournament

Pok�mon X & Y - Game Sync Changes

This coming Tuesday, February 4th, will see another maintenance period for the Pok�mon Global Link from 5am JST to 5pm JST (7pm UTC Feb 3rd to 7am UTC Feb 4th). During this period, it has been announced that there is to be a shift in the Game Sync system. Originally, you could Game Sync once every four hours, but this was reduced to once every hour. However, as of this maintenance period, the duration required is to be 3 hours. We'll bring more details on any changes as they come

Pok�mon XY - Hulu

It has been announced that the Pok�mon anime is to come to the Hulu streaming service in the United States. At present, it has the first Diamond & Pearl series, as well as the movie Rise of Darkrai and Pok�mon Origins. Over the coming months, the rest of the Diamond & Pearl series and the first two episodes of Pok�mon the Series: XY will be added to the service, as will the movies Giratina & The Sky Warrior, Arceus and the Jewel of Life & Zoroark: Master of Illusion. This follows on from the massive inclusion of the Pok�mon anime in the Japanese version of Hulu.

Pok�mon X & Y - Battle Competition

Ahead of the reveal of the data worldwide, and after its reveal yesterday, the official Korean site has seemingly inadvertently revealed the regulations for the upcoming Beta Competition WiFi tournament for Pok�mon X & Y. It's possible that these regulations may change, but we'll have confirmation on Friday.
First, the battles are to be Double Battles and you can use any Pok�mon in the National Pok�dex, except Mewtwo, Xerneas, Yveltal or Zygarde, and you cannot use transferred Pok�mon from previosu generations. All Pok�mon will be made to be Level 30 in the competition. In addition to that, there's a new regulation included. In this competition, you can only have 20 battles per day, but if you participate in less than 20 in one day, you can make it up in another so if you make 15 battles in Day 1, then you can do 25 battles in Day 2. After the competition, there will be a survey on how it was run, running from February 28th to March 7th. We'll bring full details, including confirmation of this, on Friday

Pok�mon X & Y - Battle Competition

The first Battle Competition for Pok�mon X & Y has finally been revealed. The Test Competition, previously announced with the last Generation V one, will be running from February 21st to February 24th. Entrants are limited to players who participated in the 2013 Global Showdown competition for Black 2 & White 2, but there will be 10,000 further entries allowed from Friday 31st January 2014. Full details, including the type of battle and all restrictions will be revealed then, as well.

The Global Link has begun rolling out the conversion of a variety of Generation V Dream World aspects into the X & Y Global Link, with Japan & Europe already being complete. Most of these include conversion of things into Dream Points. As we reported last year, the following are converted
10,000�49,999 Dream Points = 500 Pok�Miles
50,000�99,999 Dream Points = 3,000 Pok�Miles
100,000�199,999 Dream Points = 10,000 Pok�Miles
200,000 + Dream Points = 25,000 Pok� Miles

Over the past couple of months, we have been slowly collating as many shiny images as possible for the various Pok�mon within the game. However, with help from Comentor, I have been able to catalogue images for every single Pok�mon that is capable of being shiny in Pok�mon X & Y. Since Celebi, Jirachi, Arceus, Victini, Reshiram, Zekrom, Keldeo, Meloetta, Xerneas, Yveltal and Zygarde cannot be shiny in X & Y, this means they currently do not have shiny images. Pok�mon Bank has been re-added to the Japanese eShop for all to download. This has been done with an update for all players who previously downloaded for both Pok�mon Bank and Pok� Transporter. The patch is said to add countermeasures to prevent the software from causing the servers to overload. The free trial for this software has been extended with it ending on February 21st 2014. We'll provide details of a localisation as soon as possible.

Pok�mon X & Y - Event

Following on from the event in Toys 'R' Us and the Pok�mon Center over Christmas, the recent distribution in Japan of Gengar and Scizor have been announced for a re-distribution.
The first gift is a Level 25 Gengar with no hold item and the moves Psychic, Confuse Ray, Sucker Punch and Shadow Punch.
The second gift is a Scizor, also Level 25, with the ability Technician or Swarm and the moves Aerial Ace, False Swipe, Agility and Fury Cutter.
Unlike last time, these Pok�mon are distributed via Mystery Gift in Pok�mon Centers all February. The time of day is what determines the distribution with Gengar and Scizor being released in alternating hours. The Event Database has been updated with details of these events.

Pok�mon Tretta Lab - Functionality Discontinued

With the announcement of the next series of Pok�mon Tretta arcade game, The Pok�mon Tretta, it has been announced that the recent piece of software and hardware for the Nintendo 3DS, Pok�mon Tretta Lab, will be unable to read and interact with the new pucks which feature the X & Y Pok�mon and the new Fairy type. As such, the software will receive no further updates. It is said that the software is still going to be able to be purchased and downloaded for the forseeable future, but it can discontinue at a moment's notice. It is still fully functional with pucks from all previous 8 sets, as well as the promotional pucks.

The official site has updated and revealed the first plot details for the upcoming movie, Cocoon of Destruction, which is due for release in Japan in July 2014. Translation thanks to Dephender.

Once upon a time, the "Great Destruction" took place, eradicating all life in the Kalos region. The Great Destruction was brought upon by Yveltal, the "Destruction Pok�mon" said to rob everything of life. After destroying everything, Yveltal turned into a "Cocoon of Destruction", in which form it still sleeps today. When this Great Destruction took place, the only one rivaling Yveltal's power was Xerneas, the "Life Pok�mon". Xerneas was said to bestow life to people and Pok�mon.Now, the journey to meet with these two grand legendary Pok�mon of the Kalos region begins...

It has been discovered that a new trademark has been registered by Nintendo, GameFreak and Creatures Inc. in Japan. This trademark is for Pok�Touch (ポケタッチ), with the trademark being filed on November 14th 2013 and published on December 12th 2013. It's currently unknown what this trademark is for, but if it turns out to be anything pertinent, we'll bring it.

For those of you in North America and Europe, the next wave of soundtracks has been released by The Pok�mon Company. This particular soundtrack is the Pok�mon HeartGold & SoulSilver soundtrack and contains 270 tracks from the games for $9.99/�7.99/�9.99 on the iTunes platform. The Pok�mon Company has promised that the soundtracks for Ruby & Sapphire, Diamond & Pearl, Black & White and Black 2 & White 2 are to be released within 2014.

Pok�mon X & Y - Torchic Event

For all players who are yet to do so, the current Internet event for Pok�mon X & Y is due to end on Wednesday. This event is a special Torchic with its Hidden Ability of Speed Boost and holds the special Blazikenite item which, once it has evolved into Blaziken, allows it to Mega Evolve into Mega Blaziken. As such, this will be the last opportunity to get the Blazikenite for quite a while so be sure to download it while it's still available. It is obtained through the Mystery Gift option on the game.

The official site has updated and has revealed that during the World Hobby Fair 2014 Winter, which is to be held later this month on January 19th in Nagoya, Tokyo, Osaka and Fukuoka, there will be distributions of various O Powers. These O Powers are O Power MAX and run for 60 minutes as opposed to the usual 3. The Powers are as follows: EXP Point Power MAX, Bargain Power MAX, Prize Money Power MAX and Capture Power MAX.

Pok�mon - CoroCoro Reveals

The first bit of CoroCoro has leaked through ANN and has revealed some new minor information for the upcoming movie, Cocoon of Destruction and its associated short: Pikachu, What Kind of Keys are These? Not much information was given but the short appears to feature Darkrai, Manaphy, Victini and Jirachi. A poll is to be given in CoroCoro and the winner will be the Pok�mon that will be distributed in association with the movie, with the options being the Pok�mon that are listed above. The winner will be revealed in the April issue of CoroCoro, due for release on March 15th 2014

The Global Link has announced the first attraction in the Pok�Mileage club for Pok�mon X & Y. This attraction is called Balloon Popping and is playable on the Global Link website. The full details of this attraction aren't known, but will offer items depending upon how well you do and costs Pok�Miles to play.
In addition to this, they have announced a special Global Link distribution of the Discount Coupon item. This item gives you a 50% discount in all Boutiques across the Kalos region. This item will be distributed from January 15th 2014 in Japan and is one per game. Details of a North American and European distribution are not known, but the announcement of the attraction has yet to come there. We'll bring full details on both of these as they come

Pok�mon XY - Episode Title

The magazine Newtype has revealed a brand new episode title for the current series, Pokémon XY. This title is for an episode set to air in Japan on February 6th and features a battle between Chespin and a Delphox after Chespin has eaten too much food.

The latest Pok�mon movie, Genesect & The Legend Awakened, has been released on DVD in Japan recently and it came with the special short, Eevee & Friends, and my good friend Sunain has kindly done screencaps of this movie from her DVD. This movie short focused on the evolutions of the Pok�mon that evolve from Eevee, including the new evolution, Sylveon. The Anim�Dex has been updated with the vast contents of this short. With our coverage of Pok�mon Bank complete, I have begun cleaning up the X & Y and Game Mechanic sections with various touch-ups and pieces of in-depth information. In addition to this, I have also begun work on various Game Mechanic pages such as the Moveset Calculator which should come soon so keep checking back.

Today, we are covering a Pok�mon introduced in the fourth generation. It sprays a vile-smelling fluid from the tip of its tail to attack. Its range is over 160 feet.It sprays a stinky fluid from its tail. The fluid smells worse the longer it is allowed to fester.It attacks by spraying a horribly smelly fluid from the tip of its tail. Attacks from above confound it. The stench dulls after a few squirts. So here it is, the tenth entry, Skuntank.

12:04: Updated the Natural Gift page with new details
15:49: I have created a beta of our Moveset Calculator for X & Y. This calculator only currently focuses on Kalos native moves at the moment, with us working on a way to include previous generation moves and show them as such. It is currently in beta stages so let me know if any combinations are missed.
