Pokémon GO
Niantic have announced the full details of the upcoming Trainer Battles feature. This feature, as reported on Friday, has three different leagues with various CP caps. However, we now have the full details of the battle mechanics. You battle other trainers by sharing a QR code with them. If one player scans the code, they can challenge you to a battle. Normally trainers need to be local, but Ultra Friends and Best Friends can challenge each other from any distance. You can also battle the Team Leaders once a day to gain rewards
As with other battles in the game, this is a tap focused battle. However, rather than just one charge move, you now have a second that can be called upon. This second move requires Stardust and Candy to unlock. It can then be used in Gyms and Raids as well.
As you attack with your Fast Move, you charge up the charge moves. When they are fully charged, you can activate them with a quick repeated tap to charge them up. The Fast attacks stop for a short time while the player does that
There is also a shield that can be generated through the battles. This protects the Pokémon from damage from Charge Attacks but players can only use a select number in a battle.
There are rewards for the battling. These rewards include the Sinnoh Stone and other evolution items
This feature will also reactivate the previously defunct Ace Trainer medal
You cannot use Ditto or Shedinja in this mode.
