When you start the game, you get a selection of two tables to play on, the Red Table and the Blue Table. Each table runs the same mechanics, but has different entry points for the various aspects and as such, require multiple strategies in order to get to the various areas. In addition to this, each of the different tables has multiple unique areas including Pokémon within them, allowing you to capture a wider variety of Pokémon. The pinball tables cover two different screens and will switch between them as the PokéBall goes between them, making it slightly more difficult to make shots.
To activate the Catch and Evolution modes, you need to go through the right and left tunnels three times respectively. Each table also has two Pikachu savers to the side of the flippers which are powered by a small flipper on the right which reacts to movement. The four entry points at the bottom spell out "CAVE" which activates the bonus modes
