Special Moves

Neutral SpecialTrick Shot

Duck Hunt's neutral special is the Trick Shot. This has the dog bring out a can from Hogan's Alley. For every press of the special button, the can will get shot, and bounce up. This can be done repeatedly. Once the can hits somebody, it will explode, causing some ridiculous damage and knockback.

Side SpecialClay Pigeon Shooting

Duck Hunt's side special is reminiscent of the original Duck Hunt game and has the dog throw a clay pigeon disc. If you press the button again, then you can shoot it, causing it to break up and have a small shockwave that will damage any nearby opponents.

Up SpecialDuck Jump

Duck Hunt's recovery move is rather basic and has the duck grab the dog and ly upwards at a rapid pace. After it reaches the highest possible point for it, it will drop down. Control during this is rather limited so it can leave you open for various attacks.

Down SpecialWild Gunman

Duck Hunt's down special is another callback to a classic NES Zapper game and has him call on an 8-bit Wild Gunman. This character will stand around for a few seconds and shoot outwards, horizontally. However, as it is a character on stage, it can be attacked, which will cause it to be stunned and disappear.

 Final Smash: Zapper

Duck Hunt's Final Smash also calls on classic NES titles. It requires close proximity in order to work. If you make contact when activating the Final Smash, then a flock of ducks will fly through and grab any opponents. They will drop the opponents into a gun range in front of a load of Wild Gunmen. These characters will then fire at the various cans in the area, causing damage to the opponents in the process.
