The Nintendo 3DS was the successor to the Nintendo DS. This device featured more power than its predecessor and a bigger screen at the top. This top screen allowed for the view of stereoscopic 3D through a parralax barrier meaning it can display 3D effects without the need of special glasses. This console also had connection to the Internet through the Nintendo Network and had the ability to digitally download full titles for the first time on a portable device. It could be augmented for space with SD Cards

The Nintendo 3DS XL, or Nintendo 3DS LL in Japan, was a larger model of the Nintendo 3DS. It featured a more streamlined design and stronger battery life

The Nintendo 2DS was a small entry level variant of the Nintendo 3DS. Dropping the clamshell design and the stereoscopic 3D, it managed to by the cheap entry level variant of the console

The New Nintendo 3DS was a more powerful variant of the Nintendo 3DS. It featured stronger capabilities resulting in some games being boosted for the device and others being exclusive. It also featured a secondary analog stick on the right and more buttons, as well as utilising the front-facing camera for full face tracking for the stereoscopic 3D effect.

This model was also customisable with many face plates being released for it allowing you to customise it with faceplates of your favourite games or game characters. It also added functionality to scan amiibo through the bottom screen

The New Nintendo 3DS XL was a larger variant of the New Nintendo 3DS. It featured larger screens and a stronger battery life

The New Nintendo 2DS XL was a larger variant of the Nintendo 2DS with all the specs and clamshell design of the New Nintendo 3DS XL. Like the Nintendo 2DS, it removed the stereoscopic 3D effect as an option
