The Great Bay stage is based on the Great Bay area in Termina. It's set on the small artifical island that is the Marine Research Laboratory. It is made of two fixed platforms, with one hovering over a small platform to the right and a floating rock which tilts based on weight. To the far right is the giant turtle which can be used as a platform but does disappear into the water and return after a while. In addition to this, Tingle will sometimes appear and act as a platform with his balloon. In the background, the moon will come down to the ground, until the four giants protect the region and it returns to space.
