The Pirate Ship stage makes a return from Super Smash Bros. Brawl. It is a rather unique stage in that you are on a boat sailing through the great sea in The Wind Waker. As you are on the sea, your boat is floating in water andas such, if you are knocked down, you have the ability to swim a little bit before falling to your doom. The main boat itself also has a catapult on it that randomly flips up, throwing anyone on it to the left. In addition to that, a watchtower may go by in the background, shooting bombs at the boat which will damage anyone it hits.
There are a variety of extra stage parts in this stage. The first of which being the King of the Red Lions. At many points during the level, while the boat you are on is swimming, the King of the Red Lions will come up behind giving you an extra platform on which to battle and/or recover should the need arise
Next, at various points throughout the level, a storm shall arise. This storm may send a massive cyclone towards you. The boat gets caught up in this cyclone and thus is sent upwards at a hurtling speed. When in the air, if you fall down, you will get knocked out easily. After a brief period when the ship is in the air, it will quickly fall back down to the sea
Finally, at various points in the level, the boat will come ashore onto a small island. The boat ends up on a diagonal slant while on the island and you can use this island for fighting on. However, after a short time, the island will begin to sink and the boat will go on its merry way once more
