Battles for the next online competition have begun in Pokémon Sword & Shield's VS Option. This competition, Galar Newcomers, is a Double Battle competition that only allows Pokémon that were discovered in the Galar Region as well as Galarian Forms. It will not allow Zacian or Zamazenta. The Lunar New Year event has begun in Pokémon GO. From now until 21:00 UTC on February 3rd 2020, there will be increased spawns of Red Pokémon, as well as Gyarados with Gyarados' Shiny form being available in the wild. It also adds various Red Pokémon to 7km eggs including the introduction of Darumaka. The event adds Gifts having the chance of giving Rare Candies, increased Lucky Friend Chance and increased Lucky Trade change
Edit @ 21:46: Along with the Gyarados being able to be shiny in the wild during the event, there are multiple reports that Magmar can also be shiny. Previously you could only get Shiny Magmar by hatching Shiny Magby

The Special Raid Weekend event has begun. Until Monday at 21:00 UTC, Latios and Latias will both appear in Raid Battles as Level 5 Raid Bosses

Tickets for the recently announced Pokémon GO Safari Zone are now available to purchase from within the Pokémon GO app. These tickets cost $12 for one ticket, or $18 if you wish early access. Players can only purchase a ticket for one day of the event and they will sell on a first-come first-served basis.
