Niantic have announced the next Pokémon GO event. This is the 8th Anniversary Party event and is due to run from June 28th at 10:00 to July 3rd at 20:00 local time and adds Party Hat Grimer into the game
There will be paid Masterwork Research to get Shiny Celebi if you hadn't got it before, and paid Timed Research which includes a Meltan Encounter
Shiny Meltan will be available in the Mystery Boxes
There will be increased chance to become Lucky Friends and get Lucky Pokémon in trades. Friendship levels will also increase faster. You will also have a chance of finding 8, 88 or more Gimmighoul Coins from Golden Lure Modules
There will be 50% Incubator Distance from June 28th through 29th, 2* Catch Experience on June 30th to July 1st and 2* Stardust from July 2nd through 3rd
Bulbasaur in a party hat, Charmander in a party hat, Squirtle in a party hat, Pikachu in a cake hat, Grimer in a party hat, Eevee in a party hat, Alolan Grimer, Sprigatito, Fuecoco and Quaxly will spawn more in the wild
On June 28th - 29th, Chikorita, Cyndaquil, Totodile, Treecko, Torchic and Mudkip will spawn in the wild
On June 30th - July 1st, Turtwig, Chimchar, Piplup, Snivy, Tepig and Oshawott will spawn in the wild
On July 2nd through 3rd, Chespin, Fennekin, Froakie, Rowlet, Litten and Popplio will spawn in the wild
Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, Pikachu and Grimer will be in 1 Star Raids
First Partner Pokémon will be in Field Research alongside Mega Energy for Venusaur, Charizard, Blastoise, Sceptile, Blaziken and Swampert
There will be free Timed Research to get encounters with Raticate in a party hat, Nidorino in a party hat, Wobbuffet in a party hat, Meltan and more
The paid Timed Research will feature tasks that give you an Incubator, Super Incubator, Premium Battle Pass, Lucky Egg, Rocket Radar, Star Piece, Incense, Poffion, 88,888 XP and a Meltan encounter
The Whispers in the Woods Masterwork Research will be available for $5. If you haven't completed Distracted by Something Shiny Special Research from 2020, you will be able to buy this research. Players who buy this Research and those who completed that prior Shiny Celebi Research will get 2* Incense duration, and 2* Lucky Egg duration

Continuing the Pokémon Local Acts campaign, where various Pokémon are considered ambassadors for areas in Japan for the purpose of tourism, five new PokéLids have been added, this time in the area of Kyoto. Two new PokéLids have been added to the area of Uji and these include Pokémon such as Scorbunny and Sinistcha. We have updated our Poké Lids section with these new Poké Lids and locations
