Pokémon GO has announced a new feature that is gradually rolling out. This feature is a new level of Friendship as well as Remote Trades. This is gradually rolling out, starting today with New Zealand
When you become Forever Friends with other players, you'll be able to Remote Trade. You can keep engaging with Forever Friends to earn more Friendship Points to get more experience and more Remote Trades, but you can only have one Remote Trade available with a Forever Friend at a time
Friendship Pointsare to be added to track friendship progression. You can earn one Friendship Point a day with a friend
With Remote Trades, each player takes turns to select up to 3 of a friend's tagged Pokémon to receive. These wishlists are sent to the other trailers and when each player selects it, they can then review and confirm or cancel. The following Pokémon can't be traded in Remote Trades: Pokémon caught in the last 30 days, Previously traded Pokémon, Shadow Pokémon, Mythical Pokémon, Pokémon defending Gyms or Power Spots, Pokémon currently set as your buddy, Actively Mega-Evolved Pokémon, Fused Pokémon, Crowned Sword Zacian and Crowned Shield Zamazenta, Pokémon placed at Pokémon Playgrounds,
The number of friends players can have will be increased from 450 to 650
There will be Timed Research from December 15th through 29th which contains an encounter with Scatterbug as well as Experience, Stardust and more

The next Pokémon GO event has been announced. This is the Winter Holiday Part 1 event and is due to run December 18th at 10:00 to December 24th at 10:00 local time and adds costume Sudowoodo & Charjabuginto the game
There will also be increased chance of Shiny Costume Pichu & Costume Cubchoo from 7km Eggs
Swinub, Snorunt, Spheal, Sudowoodo & Charjabug may spawn in the wild
Pichu, Smoochum, Cubchoo, Cryogonal and Snom will be in 7km Eggs
Sudowoodo, Hisuian Avalugg and Charjabug will be in 3 Star Raids
There will be a special GO Pass throughout the event
Tier 1: 2× XP from sending Gifts, GO Pass Deluxe: 2× Stardust from opening Gifts
Tier 2: Additional items may be rewarded from opening Gifts, GO Pass Deluxe: 1/2 Egg Hatch Distance when Eggs are placed in an Incubator during the event period
Tier 3: 50% more XP for winning Raid Battles, GO Pass Deluxe: 2× XP from catching Pokémon
The GO Pass will include encounters with Snom and other event themed Pokémon, Stardust, Experience, Poké Ball, Candy, Premium Battle Passes and more including a Snom Beanie

The next Pokémon GO Research Day event has been announced. This event will run on December 20th from 14:00 to 17:00 local time and focuses on Solrock & Lunatone
There will be Field Research to get Lunatone or Solrock during the day and paid Timed Research to get Lunatone and Solrock.

Timed Research has gone live for the Pokémon GO Gigantamax Snorlax Day event. This Timed Research is designed to help players prepare for the Gigantamax Snorlax event with a focus on Dynamax Machop. It is available from 06:00 local time today until the end of the event on December 14th at 17:00 local time

The third and final bingo reward panel is now live for the Teddiursa's Shiny Festival event in Pokémon Café ReMix. This panel gives a number of tasks which, if completed, give you Dolliv's Stylish Rose outfit. These need to be completed before the event ends on December 11th 2025

The Pokémon Café ReMix event, Collect with Gholdengo, has made its repeated return. This event has Gimmighoul appear as icons in Main & Master Café stages. If you collect them, you can earn rewards including Gholdengo. It runs until December 11th at 05:59 UTC
