Project Snorlax

Starting Date: March 17th 2023

Project Snorlax, known natively as Project Kabigon, was the third big social media project by The Pokémon Company in Japan. Like its predecessors, it focused on a lot of comic images and posting of merchandise tied around the Pokémon Snorlax as a loose promotion for the game, Pokémon Sleep. This involves showcasing Snorlax at various events but also had a set of unique reveals and tie-ins.

Duration: June 22nd 2023 - June 28th 2023

During June 2023, a special campaign was held on social media called Snorlax Goes All Out Week. This campaign featured daily reveals of Snorlax related elements such as short movies, Manga and game trailers.

In addition to this, if you go to a Pokémon Center in Japan during the duration of the week, you would get a special sticker of the Project Snorlax logo if you show that you follow the Twitter or Instagram accounts.

Duration: February 23rd - 29th 2024

Towards the end of February 2024, the Staying with Snorlax campaign began in Pokémon Centers through Japan. This campaign was touted as the approach to the finale of Project Snorlax. It featured a special video of Snorlax being stuck in a Pokémon Center, the ability to meet Snorlax at Pokémon Centter Mega Tokyo, Nagoya and Osaka and you will be able to get a Serial Code to obtain Snorlax at Pokémon Centers across Japan

Reveal Date: February 16th 2024

To celebrate the approaching finale of Project Snorlax, a special song was released about Snorlax. This came with a music video showing a trainer and their Snorlax

On Day 7 of the Snorlax Goes All Out Week, a special Pokémon Sleep trailer was released showcasing how Snorlax is during the various parts of gameplay

On Day 6 of the Snorlax Goes All Out Week, a collaboration with the official Pokémon Trading Card Game Channel was held which featured the cast of the channel finding Snorlax block their path, following with a match using decks built with Snorlax and card sleeves featuring Snorlax

On Day 5 of the Snorlax Goes All Out Week, a special temporary Pokémon Center was announced to be open from July 8th through August 27th at the Unimo Chiharadai complex in the Chiba prefecture. This includes a large Snorlax statue for photos as well as Project Snorlax themed clearfiles if you spend over 4,000 yen

On Day 4 of the Snorlax Goes All Out Week, a special short movie was announced, but not released. This movie focuses on a Snorlax trying to find a good place to sleep

On Day 3 of the Snorlax Goes All Out Week, a new Manga was revealed for release in Autumn of 2023. This Manga, Snorlax's Dream Gourmet Meal is drawn by Taku Kuwabara and tells the story of a trainer and their Snorlax as the Snorlax dreams of the food that it'll eat

On Day 2 of Snorlax Goes All Out Week, a special short movie was shown which featured a woman waking up and finding a Snorlax in her house, and the friendship between the two started to grow

Following the Nintendo Direct trailer showcasing the first footage of the Pokémon Scarlet & Violet - The Hidden Trasure of Area Zero DLC which confirmed Snorlax would return in pack one, The Teal Mask, a small trailer was released showcasing Snorlax and the trainer through the land of Kitakami

As part of the the Project Snorlax collaboration, a special set of illustrations were released focusing on various main series games showcasing trainers facing off against Snorlax

Duration: June 22nd 2023 - June 30th 2023

As part of the Snorlax Goes All Out Week campaign, all the PokéStops in Pokémon GO for the Pokémon Centers got photobombed by a Snorlax. These could then be sent as gifts out to other players who could then save them.
