Another mechanic unique to the Mystery Dungeon games are the IQ skills. These skills allow for the Pokémon to work on their own and attack intelligently. As each Pokémon has a certain IQ level, Group their skills increase as their IQ goes up in the same manner as happiness in the main games. When you get higher IQ, Group the Pokémon do more things on their own, Group all of which are customisable so you do not have to have any on that you do not wish. Each Pokémon Species is set to one specific group, Group from a selection of 8 which can have certain skills. The skills and the groups that they are a part of are as follows:
