Pokémon GO has announced that the trainer level cap will increase from 50 to 80 on October 15th 2025. With this, a number of changes are going to take place. First, the level curve from 1 to 80 will be rebalanced to allow players to level up more frequently.
Tasks to level from 41 to 50 will be removed and new tasks will be added for Level 71 to 80
Level 70 and higher players have an increased chance of becoming Lucky Friends
New rewards will be added to level up progression including gifts, Pokémon storage and items
Some players will automatically jump in level but no player will lower in level. More details on that to come soon
On October 14th, all players will receive a medal commemorating their highest level before the adjustment. Avatar items available from Level 40 through 50 will no longer be available but players who are at Level 50 before the chance will receive a new pose
A new XP Celebration event will be live from 20:00 UTC on August 25th until October 14th at 23:59 local time. This event will have 2* Catch Experience for Nice, Great and Excellent Throws, +3000 Experience from Raids and Max Battles. Timed Research will also be available to all trainers which gives a chance to earn over 7 million experience
Pokémon levels will not be adjusted or added with this.

The Pokémon GO XP Celebration event is live globally. This event is the XP Celebration event which adds unique Timed Research to help players reach the highest level they can before the release of the level cap change. It runs until October 14th 2025 at 23:56 local time.

Pokémon Sleep
The latest major Pokémon Sleep event, the Super Skill Week event is rolling out. This event runs until 03:59 local time on September 1st 03:59. This event features boosts to Electric, Fire and Water-type Pokémon to prepare for the Raikou, Entei & Suicune Research event next month.

Pokémon TCG Pocket - Mass Outbreak Event
A new Pokémon TCG Pocket event has begun. This event is the Lightning-type Mass Outbreak Event. This event is features special Wonder Picks as well as a special flair during the event for Lightning-type Pokémon. It runs until August 31st 2025

The next Pokémon GO season has been revealed. This season is called Tales of Transformation and runs from September 2nd through December 2nd. This season is said to feature Mega Metagross, Dynamax Eevee and Keldeo Resolute Form. We'll provide more details as they come

The Pokémon GO Sunkissed Shores event is rolling out globally. This event is the Sunkissed Shores event which adds Dondozo into the game via raids, alongside its Shiny variant. It runs from 10:00 local time until August 31st 2025 at 20:00 local time.

Pokémon Masters EX
The monthly special event has begun in Pokémon Masters EX. For one day only each month on the 25th, the Pokémon Masters Day event will be held. This event will give you a variety of rewards for completion. A sync Grid Expansion has happened for Selene & Rolet. Finally, the 6 Star EX for Molayne & Alolan Dugtrio has been unlocked

The latest bingo panel is now live for Pokémon Café ReMix's currently running event. This panel gives a number of tasks which, if completed, give you Bewear's Stylish Sunflower outfit. These need to be completed before the event ends on September 1st 2025
