Like the previous game, Pokémon Rumble Blast has a number of game modes for you to partake in. However, unlike the previous game, Pokémon Rumble Blast adds upon the previous modes and provides many new experiences. This page will be updated continually until launch when it'll be fully expansive.
Standard Mode
The standard story mode is the mode come to be known from Pokémon Rumble. However, in this game, it is far more expansive with numerous unique levels. As you progress through the levels, you can collect coins in order to pay for items or Pokémon and you can even find Pokémon toys of the Pokémon you have defeated. At the end of each stage is a boss you have to defeat. The boss is an enlarged version of a standard Pokémon and you also have a chance of obtaining it when you defeat it.
This mode is playable on your own, or with a friend over the local wireless feature of the Nintendo 3DS. In multiplayer mode, the likelihood of finding Pokémon is increased.
Pokémon Collection Battle Mode
Very little is known about this mode, but it has you going through a stage, having to defeat all of the Pokémon toys you have collected during your travels. If you manage to defeat all of the Pokémon, you gain access tos where stronger Pokémon dwell
Battle Royale
This is the other returning mode from the original Pokémon Rumble. This mode puts you in a ring, being able to choose up to 3 Pokémon to use. In this ring, you need to defeat all of the Pokémon. You shall have dozens of Pokémon unleashed upon you at any one time. At the end, should you manage to fight off all of the enemies, several strong Pokémon will appear and challenge you. These Pokémon are harder to defeat than the standard Pokémon. You have a time limit to defeat them all within and you can earn various coins for succeeding.
Team Battle
Team Battle is a new mode which has you control all three of the Pokémon at once. Using this, you will need to make sure your Pokémon do not get damaged. At points in the battle, you have the ability to make your Pokémon stand on eachother as a tower in order to pool together Hit Points as well as power up the moves you use. In these battles, you have to progress through small waves of Pokémon until the boss Pokémon comes and attacks.
Charge Battle
This mode is another new mode. Here, you can control a massive army of Pokémon. With the army, you fight through the stages, facing off against many other Pokémon armies. These battles are controlled differently to the other modes and require you to overpower the enemies using combinations. In this mode, you have the ability to bring more Pokémon into your army. You can increase your army by collecting various Charge Flags won by completing the Battle Royales.
Street Pass Battle
This mode utilises the Street Pass feature of the Nintendo 3DS. If you encounter a player with the game while you walk past them with the 3DS in sleep mode, you will have your data sent to them and you will receive their data. With this, you will find their Mii and they shall challenge you with a Pokémon of their choice. This challenge is done as a boss battle in-game. If you defeat the Pokémon, you can earn a prize, the prize being undetermined as of yet.
