Splatoon 3 is the third in the series of Nintendo's hit third person shooting game where you play as Inklings and have to face off against eachother in various modes to see who can cover the most course in ink.

Every month or so, there are special SplatFests which have players pick a team and fight out to see which is superior. These vary from being about foods to being promotional tie ins. New to Splatoon 3 is the ability to have SplatFests between three teams. In the first day, the teams will battle through one on one and at the halfway point, will get ranked and special three-team matches will be held

This Splatfest was run to tie in with the release of Pokémon Scarlet & Violet, and Pokémon as a whole, having players decide which starter-type is the superior type. This is themed to all generations but has a particular focus on Pokémon Scarlet & Violet's starters: Sprigatito, Fuecoco and Quaxly with these Pokémon appearing on the special Splatfest T-Shirts
