Stage Selection

Unlike previous Pokémon Rumble games, where you went up to the stage or selected it via a menu, Pokémon Rumble World has got a new method for travelling to the areas within the game. There are 18 worlds to explore in this game and they all need you to purchase their corresponding balloon from the In-Game Shop in exchange for Poké Diamonds. Once you have bought the balloon, you can then select the stage from the departure menu

Each area has got between 3 and 6 stages within it, and the stages are selected pseudo-randomly via form of a roulette. This makes the selection as close to random as they deem possible. Each island is sometimes denoted by one, two or three stars. This is an indicator of whether or not you will see rare Pokémon. The Pokémon you see on top of the stage in the selection will be the final boss.

After you have visited a stage within the area, the balloon will have to reinflate which takes between 30 minutes and 8 hours, depending on the balloon. This can be sped up by spending Poké Diamonds, and the value of the PokéDiamonds changes depending on how much time is left.

Fever!

Sometimes, when you have selected the area to travel to, you will get a notice about it being a "Fever" time. This mode adds stars to one or more of the stages, to give you rarer Pokémon to select from. If you get two Fever in a row, it's called Super Fever and will add even more stars to the stages to give you the best options.

The method of getting this is completely random, but there is a way to see if you're likely to get one. When you return from a previous stage, if there is a rainbow around your balloon in the cutscene, then you have a chance of getting Fever in your next stage, so be sure to make sure you know what stage you're selecting first.

Timing Stop

With the random nature of the roulette, it could often be felt that the player is robbed from reaching certain Pokémon such as Legendary Pokémon. There is a way around this, however. Once you reach Rank 17 and have completed the King's Challenge "The Phantom Thief Returns", then you can receive the Timing Stop item from the Present option in the shop.

When you have this option, when the roulette is spinning, press the X Button and the roulette will slow considerably. From there, as soon as the A button is pressed, the stage is selected allowing for full control over which stage is to be accessed. This process isn't free, however. It costs 2 Poké Diamonds with each use of it so use it wisely.

Mii Adventures

After you have started to receive Miis, you will often find them in your castle. Sometimes, they will have an exclamation mark over their head. If they do, this means that they will be willing to take you to a stage, some are random, some are based on the Mii and most notably, one is the exact same stage you went to last. This is especially noteworthy if you are trying to get a specific Pokémon, such as a Legendary Pokémon.

They won't do this out of the goodness of their heart, however, but will rather charge you for the opportunity. The pricing scales depending on the particular stage type:

  • No Stars: 500 P
  • : 1 Poké Diamond
  • ★★: 2 Poké Diamonds
  • ★★★: 3 Poké Diamonds
