Pokkén Tournament DX - Coverage Day 1

Tomorrow is the global launch for the first Pokémon game for the Nintendo Switch, Pokkén Tournament DX. As such, our usual discoveries shall begin. As usual, I'll be posting the main focal points here. If you want to remain unspoiled, do not click the spoiler tag, nor visit the section until you have your game. Don't worry as blatant spoilers will NOT be on the home page.
Edit @ 12:02: Everything same as before as this is pretty much a deluxe port. There are added features of Daily Challenge and Wireless Battle on the home screen. The Mission Panels part of Ferrum League option. Different for each leagues. Give rewards such as outfits, titles etc
Edit @ 12:14: amiibo has shifted to its own menu option, but there's also a "Special Code" option where you can put in a code to redeem gifts.

A brand new app has been announced for iOS and Android. This app is called Pokémon Playhouse and is a small app aimed at younger children where they can interact with various Pokémon, play in picture stories, hatch eggs and more. We'll cover this game in full as and when we can

You get an egg to carry and hatch . Completing tasks aids in hatching the eggs. When it hatches you get a new Egg.
Playroom - Puzzles, Story, Flashlight game
Puzzles. Drag Pokémon over the silhouettes to where they fit on the puzzle. There are 4 different puzzle scenes
Three different stories. Cleffa ‘Treasure hunt’, Pichu ‘Pecha berry jam’, Litten ‘A Nap for Litten’
Arrows control the pages There are interactive elements on some pages. Finishing a book gives aids to hatching an egg..
Flashlight Tag. Find the Pokémon in the forest by using a flashlight. When you find the Pokémon they will appear on the bottom bar. Drag your finger around the screen to use the light. Finding all the Pokémon aides the egg hatch. There’s only one stage but the Pokémon you can find is random.
Playground -Here you can watch Pokémon play. Grab Pokémon and place them in the playground. You can only have six out at a time.Putting Pokémon in the playground aids egg hatch.
Lounge - here you can give Pokémon berries and clean them
Feeding time Pokémon will appear and want berries. Drag the berries to the Pokémon to feed them the berry they want. Doing this correctly aids egg hatch.
Pokémon Grooming - Use the tools to care for Pokémon and get them cleaned up. The Pokémon will have a thought bubble showing the item it needs you to clean it with. Cleaning Pokémon aids egg hatching.
Tower -
Telescope ‘Search the stars’ you can see shapes of different Pokémon in the stars. Connect the starts to make a Pokémon shape then colour it in with your finger. This hatches eggs.
Pokémon Tunes - here you create music. Tap Pokémon to match the notes of the song. When the notes are full it plays back to you. This aids in hatching an egg

For those of you with in Japan, Australia & New Zealand, Pokémon Gold and Silver are all now available to download and play on your Nintendo 3DS. These all cost 1200¥/$9.99 and come with a serial code for Celebi in Pokémon Sun, Moon, Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon. We covered these games in full long ago including our recently updated Generation 2 Pokédex and Pokéarth, as well as various other pages detailing the contents of the game. Edit @ 19:53: It has also been confirmed that Jynx has an alteration in this game. Like with Pokémon Yellow, Jynx's sprite has been altered. Previously, Jynx's sprite has originally been altered in the International versions of Gold, Silver & Crystal while its original sprite remained in the Japanese versions. However, with the Virtual Console release, the Japanese versions have altered the sprite of Jynx to match the international releases. We have updated our Virtual Console changes page accordingly

For those of you in North America, it has been confirmed that if you purchase Pokémon Gold or Pokémon Silver download codes at Gamestop, Amazon or Best Buy, then you will receive a special bonus theme different to the ones on the standard eShop. This theme is based on the Gold & Silver Cast including the Gym Leaders on the top screen and the protagonist, rival, Professor Elm, Kurt and other trainers on the bottom with the map of Johto behind them. This matches the theme being distributed in Japan when you order your copy on Amazon.

Pokémon Sun & Moon - Marshadow Event

Some further details have come for various Marshadow events in Europe. First it'll be at the GameForce event in Belgium from September 30th to October 1st and Firstlook event in the Netherlands on October 7th & 8th. In addition to this, Amazon Spain have been confirmed to be distributing codes for Marshadow alongside pre-orders for Pokémon Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon. The code will need to be redeemed by February 23rd 2018. We'll add more details as they come so be sure to keep checking back

The magazine CoroCoro Ichiban has revealed a new piece of Merchandise, a Deluxe version of the Rotom Pokédex toy. This Pokédex toy doesn't reveal much, but on the screen it shows Dusk Mane Necrozma with the Pokédex Number of 400 rather than the 300 it had in Sun & Moon. This follows on from the alteration of Alola Pokédex number for Rockruff from 103 to 126 indicating a shift in Pokémon available in the Alola Pokédex. We'll provide full details as they come

Pokémon Sun & Moon - Celebi

To tie in with the Virtual Console release of Pokémon Gold & Silver tomorrow, the distribution for Celebi has gone live in Japan. This distribution is Level 30 with the moves Heal Bell, Safeguard, Future Sight and Ancient Power. The code is obtainable until 21st September 2018 by purchasing Gold or Silver on the Virtual Console and redeemable until October 31st 2018 and can be redeemed in Sun, Moon, Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon. At present, the codes cannot be redeemed in Europe or North America but we'll post when they are

TV Tokyo has revealed the title for the nextepisode of the Pokémon Sun & Moon anime. This episode is set to air on October 5th, following a one week break on September 28th. It features Ash finding Cosmog, as well as Lusamine visiting Lillie at the Pokémon School
