Niantic have announced some changes for Pokémon GO starting with the Season of Celebration. Different Pokémon will be hatchnig from eggs with Growlith & Wingull in 2km and Baltoy & Ducklett from 5km. Seel, Aron and Elgyem are no longer hatching from eggs
In the Northern Hemisphere, players will encounter Alolan Sandshrew, Alolan Vulpix, Seel, Lapras, Teddiursa, Winter Form Deerling, and more while the Southern Hemisphere will encounter Growlithe, Shuckle, Electrike, Burmy, Darumaka, Summer Form Deerling, and more. Mega Charizard X will also be more powerful in the first half of December
December's Community Day will run from December 12th to 13th featuring Pokémon featured in Community Days throughout 2019 and 2020

The Pokémon GO Level Cap update is now live in Pokémon GO for all Level 40 players, alongside Platinum Medals for all players. This will allow players to get Candy XL to boost their Pokémon above Level 40 as well as to start reaching Level 50. We have all known requirements up in our Trainer Page

A new set of Timed Research is now available in Pokémon GO. This research is available for all level 40 players before the end of the year and runs until December 31st 2020. We're currently compiling all details of the research in our special page
In addition to this, there's new Special Research for players hitting various levels starting with the Level 43 Challenge

Niantic have announced details for Pokémon GO Battle League Season 6, starting on November 30th at 21:00 UTC. This cup changes how the GO Battle League works by bringing the ranks up to Rank 24. Ranks 1 through 20 are obtained by completing battles and winning while the higher 4 ranks are dependant on your point ranking. Below are the details for the first half of the Season
The rank rewards will change: Rank 5 will give Mystery Items, Rank 10 will give Stardust, Rank 15 will give Rare Candy and Rank 19 will give Pokémon Encounters. Players who reach the Legend Rank will receive N's outfits and pose with encounters matching Pokémon inspired by N's teams in Black & White. Rank 16 offers Chespin encounter guaranteed, Rank 17 offers Fennekin, Rank 18 offers Froakie, Rank 20 guarantees a "surprise Pokémon" and Legend Rank guarantees Pikachu Libre. The earlier ranks will offer Starter Pokémon from all Regions
Great League will run from November 30th to December 14th
Ultra League from December 14t through December 28th
Master League, Premier Cup, Master League Classic (which prevents use of Pokémon boosted by XL Candy), and Holiday Cup will run from December 28th through January 4th. Holiday Cup only allows Normal, Grass, Electric, Ice, Flying, and Ghost typePokémon

The next event, the Battle Buffet Bash has begun in Pokémon Masters EX. This event is the first Prestige event where you will earn points for completion of stages with various bonuses for speed and difficulty. Alongside this, a Sync Pair Scout for Gloria & Zacian has begun
