Glaceon

Glaceon, The Fresh Snow Pokémon. As a defense mechanism, it can completely freeze its fur to make its hairs stand out like needles. The coldness emanating from Glaceon causes powdery snow to form, making it quite a popular Pokémon at ski resorts. Any who become captivated by the beauty of the snowfall that Glaceon creates will be frozen before they know it.

Overview

I wish I could tell you that Glaceon has a small niche or secret power to make itself a threat but the truth is that an ice cube melting at the palm of your hand is more threatening than what Glaceon will ever be. It has Ice STAB which is always a powerful offensive tool but unlike its brethen, it doesn't gains a useful secondary STAB to damage what resist Ice unlike Mamoswine and Weavile, while it also shares the same flaws as every other Ice type on this game: Too many weaknesses and not enough resistances to switch safely.
Positives
It's base 130 Special Attack is pretty much the only notable stat on Glaceon. With Ice being an excellent offensive type, Pokemon that do not resist Ice will be hit extremely hard.
Glaceon has a decent movepool with Freeze-Dry, Shadow Ball and Water Pulse as good coverage moves despite its limited movepool.
Negatives
Its base 65 HP pretty much holds back its decent Defense stat and coupled with the weaknesses to Fight, Steel, Fire and Rock, this makes Glaceon extremely difficult to use and switch in safely.
Glaceon has an extremely average 65 base Speed which makes it slow and hard for it to outspeed threats before getting smacked by a super-effective attack.

Movesets

Frost Cat

- Ice Beam / Blizzard
- Freeze-Dry
- Shadow Ball
- Water Pulse
Item Attached: Choice Specs
Ability: Ice Body
EVs and Nature:
4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Modest Nature

Ice Beam and Freeze-Dry will be most of the moves that Glaceon will use. Ice Beam is the stronger reliable STAB able of denting switch-ins thanks to the Choice Specs boost while Freeze-Dry hits the Water-types that commonly resist Ice attacks. Blizzard also works if you're using Snow Warning to have an even stronger STAB. Shadow Ball complements Glaceon's coverage and allows it to hit Jirachi decently hard. Water Pulse complements Glaceon's moveset allowing it to hit Fire types on the switch-in for decent damage.

DYNAMAX:
Glaceon can work a little with Dynamax so it can do even more damage and actually gain a bit of bulk so that it can survive a hit.

EVs and Items:
Glaceon wants max Speed and Special Attack to do as much damage as possible while outspeeding as many defensive threats as it can. Glaceon's Speed is terrible but there isn't any worth on investing on bulk considering Ice's mediocre defensive typing and its low HP. Choice Specs is the only thing that can justify as to why you're using Glaceon on a team.

Other Options:
Good luck messing up with Wish, Heal Bell or even Baton Pass. You'll find even better Eevee evolutions that can use most of its moveset on a much better fashion.

Partners:
Abomasnow can somewhat help Glaceon with Snow Warning and trigger either Snow Cloak for some disrespect or Ice Body to replenish its health. If you're going to use Glaceon, at least have something for Steel and Fire types with some decent Water types such as Rotom-Wash who can regain some momentum with Volt Switch while threatening physical Steel types with Will-o-Wisp. Garchomp can set up Stealth Rock to make it difficult for other Pokemon to switch into Glaceon's Specs boosted attacks and take chip damage on the process while threatening the Rock and Fire types that can cause trouble for it.

Countering Glaceon

Any Fire, Steel, Rock and Fighting type Pokemon with a decently powered STAB will pretty much be capable of dealing with Glaceon. Pokemon that usually outspeed it such as Jirachi, Heatran, Blaziken, Bisharp, Lucario, Kartana, Scizor and Victini are capable of destroying it as long as they are wary of the move Glaceon is locked into.
