Forretress, The Bagworm Pokémon. It keeps itself inside its steel shell. The shell is opened when it is catching prey, but it is so quick that the shell's inside cannot be seen. It remains immovably rooted to its tree. It scatters pieces of its hard shell to drive its enemies away. Its entire body is shielded by a steel-hard shell. What lurks inside the armor is a total mystery. Battle Moveset A Good Moveset for Forretress would have to be this: Attacks:
Earthquake Items Attached: Leftovers Preferred Nature: Impish Strategy Using Forretress Forretress is one of only two Pokémon with access to both Spikes and Rapid Spin (the other being Cloyster), and combined with it's good typing and great stats it's one of the better physical walls and one of the top supporter Pokémon. Earthquake is there to help prevent a Magneton switch in from destroying Forretress as well as helping it countering Dragon Dancing Tyranitars and Metagross's (two very common Pokémon that Skarmory can only wall). Hidden Power [Bug] gains STAB and can mess up Starmie and Claydol switch-ins as well as making it a solid Celebi counter. Explosion can KO something at the late-game however many people question how wise it is to Explode their Spinner, Spiker and Physical Wall. Rest works with Heal Bell or Aromatherapy support. Counter, with Max HP can work wonders on physical attackers provided you have some Wish support while Light Screen can make setting up a full layer of Spikes easier. EV Corner: There's several Forretress spreads that can be used however focusing on Defence and HP is the main concern, with Attack and Special Defence taking priority afterwards.

EVs: 182 HP / 136 Atk / 192 Def
EVs: 252 HP / 192 Def / 66 SDef
EVs: 182 HP / 192 Def / 136 SDef Other Optional Sets:
Forretress @ Choice Band Choice Band Forretress. Surprisingly powerful offensively and could cause some surprise KOs. Also makes a solid spinner and wall on Choice Band theme teams. Other Optional Moves Reflect, Toxic and Zap Cannon. Reflect can go a bit overkill on Defensive protection but will reduce most physical attacks to damage that can be recovered in a few turns of Leftovers as well as giving support to your team-mates. Toxic stalls and can cause a couple of switches. Zap Cannon paralyses opponents and can score decent damage on Skarmory before it attempts to Whirlwind you. Strategy Against Forretress With Forretress's typing it only has a few chinks in its armour. The main one is Fire Damage which is 4x effective against it, allowing Hidden Power Fire and weak Flamethrowers or Fire Blasts to KO it in a single hit. It's below average special defence is susceptible to Water and Electric attacks while its average HP can be beaten down by repeated abuse from Choice Band boosted Earthquakes, HP Flying and Rock Slides. Dragon Dance Salamence gets an easy set up on it, being resistant and immune to all of it's attacks (except Explosion) and having Flamethrower to KO it with ease. Since Forretress has no means of Hazing (or Psuedo-Hazing) Pokémon who Skarmory would normally counter aren't countered by Forretress. Examples would be the Curse-Tanks such as Swampert and Snorlax. Heracross also doesn't need to fear Forretress in the same way it would fear Skarmory since it resists Earthquake and HP Bug, giving it ample time to either set up with Sword Dances or repeatedly attack with Brick Break. Contest Moveset A good Contest Moveset for Forretress would have to be this for the Smart Contest best with Calm, Gentle, Careful, Sassy Nature: Attacks:
Toxic Items Attached: Green Scarf Strategy Using Forretress If you do the attacks in this following order you should have very few problems; 1st - Spikes, 2nd - Giga drain, 3rd - Toxic, 4th - Reflect, 5th - Spikes Locations in Games
