Eureka Seed

The Eureka Seed was introduced as a mysterious item during the Cresselia vs. Darkrai event but returned in May 2025 ahead of the first New Moon Day event. This item allows for you to unlock skills or ingredients on Mythical Pokémon which typically come empty when you befriend them.

Each Eureka Seed is tied to the specific Pokémon so a Eureka Seed (Darkrai) can only work on Darkrai.

To get the Eureka Seed, you need to befriend the Mythical Pokémon again in Sleep Research much like any other Pokémon. However, instead of befriending a second or multiple of the Mythical Pokémon, you will instead get a Eureka Seed.

When you activate the Eureka Seed, you have the option of selecting a specific Ingredient or Skill slot. When done, you will get notified of the ingredients or skills that the seed can bring. These are then selected at random from that pool and you get given the new ingredient. With an additional Eureka Seed, you can re-roll the ingredient or skill to try and get one that you prefer

Alternatively, you have the ability to turn the Eureka Seed into Species Candy for the Mythical Pokémon.
