Game Modes

Like most Pokémon games, there are numerous game modes in which you can play the game. These modes provide a myriad of opportunities to play with friends or alone

Practice

Players: 1

In the Pokémon screen, where you can check the various Pokémon in the game, you have the ability to have a practice match using any of the Pokémon, including ones you don't have, versus Pokémon you have controlled by the CPU. This allows for you to test out various Pokémon, their moves and mechanics even before you purchase or obtain their Unite License.

Random Match - Play with Random Players
Friend Match - Set up a match between 10 different players using your friend list.

Quick Battle

First to 500

Players: 1-10
Match Size: 55 vs 5
Requirements: Reach Trainer Level 8

The First to 500 Mode is a new mode introduced in February 2025 that changes the way that Pokémon UNITE is played. Rather than running to a timer, this mode has players battle until the first team gets 500 Points. This allows for different strategies to unfold

As your team gets more points, you can unlock special Aeos Technology. For each milestone, you can pick one of several Aeos Technology that will run either once or passively for the rest of the game

Electrode Volleyball

Players: 1-6
Match Size: 3 vs 3
Requirements: Reach Trainer Level 8

In the Quick Match mode, there's periodically the Electrode Volleyball mode. This mode is a basic Volleyball game which is first to 3 points where you have 5 minutes to play the match. Each team has to score by letting Electrode land in the opponent's side of the field. If it hits an opponent, it bounces back to your side. The first to 3 Points or whoever has the most points at the end of time winds
