Once you have won all of the cups and defeated the Gym Leader Castle, a new aspect arrives in the main area of the Pokémon Stadium. In the south-east of the area, a new cave will open up. In this cave, you will find your rival who will challenge you. Like the Mewtwo battle in the predecessor, the battle is a somewhat strong one where the Rival uses three legendary Pokémon but you can use all six of your Pokémon.
Once defeated in Round 1, it will open up the hard mode of the game: Round 2. After defeating everything in Round 2, you can challenge the Rival again, but he is far stronger
