Like the previous games in the series, Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon, in addition to adding loads of new attacks, also has updated numerous old moves with either new accuracy or new base power. This page details all of the moves with these changes. It will be updated as we discover more
|Aromatic Mist||Sun/Moon||20||--||--||The user raises the Sp. Def stat of an ally Pokémon by using a mysterious aroma.|
|Dark Void||Sun/Moon||10||--||50||Opposing Pokémon are dragged into a world of total darkness that makes them sleep.|
|Fell Stinger||Sun/Moon||25||50||100||When the user knocks out a target with this move, the user's Attack stat rises drastically.|
|Flying Press||Sun/Moon||10||100||95||The user dives down onto the target from the sky. This move is Fighting and Flying type simultaneously.|
|Knock Off||Sun/Moon||20||65||100||The user slaps down the target's held item, and that item can't be used in that battle. The move does more damage if the target has a held item.|
|Leech Life||Sun/Moon||10||80||100||The user drains the target's blood. The user's HP is restored by half the damage taken by the target.|
|Mat Block||Sun/Moon||10||--||--||Using a pulled-up mat as a shield, the user protects itself and its allies from damaging moves. This does not stop status moves.|
|Mystical Fire||Sun/Moon||10||75||100||The user attacks by breathing a special, hot fire. This also lowers the target's Sp. Atk stat.|
|Parabolic Charge||Sun/Moon||20||65||100||The user attacks everything around it. The user's HP is restored by half the damage taken by those hit.|
|Submission||Sun/Moon||20||80||80||The user grabs the target and recklessly dives for the ground. This also damages the user a little.|
|Sucker Punch||Sun/Moon||5||70||100||This move enables the user to attack first. This move fails if the target is not readying an attack.|
|Swagger||Sun/Moon||15||--||85||The user enrages and confuses the target. However, this also sharply raises the target's Attack stat.|
|Tackle||Sun/Moon||35||40||100||A physical attack in which the user charges and slams into the target with its whole body.|
|Thunder Wave||Sun/Moon||20||--||90||The user launches a weak jolt of electricity that paralyzes the target.|
|Topsy-Turvy||Sun/Moon||20||--||--||All stat changes affecting the target turn topsy-turvy and become the opposite of what they were.|
|Water Shuriken||Sun/Moon||20||15||100||The user hits the target with throwing stars two to five times in a row. This move always goes first.|
There are also some minor alterations to moves.
- Dark Void will now only work when used by Darkrai. If used by Smeargle or through Assist, it will fail.
- Destiny Bond can fail if used successively.
- Sheer Cold will no longer work on Ice-type Pokémon. Its accuracy when used by non-Ice-type Pokémon is also lowered.
