Djinn Lamp | |
The Djinn Lamp is a brand new item introduced in Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon. This item is found in random places at random times when you visit Sahra Town in the Sand Continent, but it has rather a unique use. When you use this item in a dungeon, it'll call upon the Mythical Pokémon, Hoopa, to appear with you as an ally in this dungeon. Hoopa can appear as either Hoopa Confined or Hoopa Unbound, which is chosen at random. Hoopa is recruited simply by using this item, but it will not be able to be used in a way you would a standard team member. It will always be in the Escorted Pokémon category when selecting your team, and not be directly controlable. As such, Hoopa can cause some mischief as, if Hoopa is about to be hit by an attack, it will use its powers to swap positions with another of your party and will sometimes wander away from your squad. Hoopa returns to the lamp when you go to the next floor, and requires summoning to appear again, and as before, it's in a random form You can only use the Maijin Lamp in one dungeon before it disappears from your pack, but you can return to Sahra Town to see if it's there again in order to bring Hoopa with you. |

Appear! Legendary Pokémon | |
While having Hoopa appear as an ally is a beneficial feature as standard, there's even more to it. If you speak to this Hoopa while in the dungeon, you can ask for it to call on a Legendary Pokémon, mimicking the use of portals to call on Legendary Pokémon in the movie, Hoopa & The Clash of Ages as well as the use of portals for Legendary Pokémon in Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire. When these Pokémon are called, they will also act as allies through the dungeon. However, they may also spawn and appear as an enemy for you to defeat, making this a random chance of if it will be beneficial or hindering to you. |
