In Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire an interesting new Pokemon mades in debut named Spinda. Found on Route 113 only, this Pokemon is unique as it can have any combination of large red spots on its head (this does not change when it's shiny, as the greens spots can also come up in any combination). There are over 4.2 billion combinations of these spots and how they appear is totally random, generated by a number of factors including your own trainer ID number. In this way you can only have a certain number of available spots in your game for capture or hatch (Spinda do not inherit their spots!), but can view in battle or have traded to you any variety of this interesting Pokemon.
