The 2019 main series Pokémon game for Nintendo Switch, announced at E3 last year and dated following the reveal of Let's Go, Pikachu! & Let's Go, Eevee! has had its release date refined. Back in May when it was detailed, it was stated that these games would be released in the second half of 2019. However, with Nintendo's financial release today, the release date has been reifned further to be listed as "Late 2019".

There's an Escalation Battle for Decidueye that lasts one week.
In addition to this, there's a Safari Zone featuring Caterpie, Grubbin, Crabrawler, Yungoos, Metapod, Charjabug, Crabominable, Butterfree, Gumshoos, Vikavolt which will run for two weeks.

It has been confirmed that Groudon & Kyogre are to be distributed next month as part of the Year of Legendary Pokémon. In the US, it will be distributed at Gamestop from August 3rd through August 26th 2018. Other locations are forthcoming. In Sun & Ultra Sun, you will receive Kyogre and in Moon & Ultra Moon you will receive Groudon. In Sun & Moon the Pokémon are Level 60 while in Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon they're Level 100 with a Gold Bottle Cap. Our Event Database has been updated with details of the event

The new movie, recently released in Japan, has finally been officially announced for international release by The Pokémon Company International. This movie is to be called The Power of Us. This movie features the new continuity with Ash entering a town where a Wind Festival takes place. This movie will have a limited theater run in the US on November 24, 26, and 28, as well as December 1 and on unannounced dates in other parts of the world.

Although it was confirmed at E3 2018 that Shiny Pokémon were to be in Pokémon Let's Go, Pikachu! & Let's Go, Eevee!, we now have further information of Shiny Pokémon in these games through various Italian, French press reportds as well as DotEsports in the UK. In the overworld, they will not appear in the shiny colours but will have a special shiny aura around them showcasing two stars. This is similar to the blue and red auras seen that denote size.

Registration for the next Battle Competition has begun. This is the Let's Go Cup competition. This is a Single Battle competition using standard rules where players can only use Pikachu or Eevee with only 1 Pokémon being allowed in the team. All Pokémon will be raised to Level 50 for the duration of the competition. Registration runs from July 26th through August 2nd 2018. Battles will run from August 3rd through August 5th. All entrants will get a special mobile wallpaper

For those of you in the US, the sixth month of the Legendary Pokémon Year events is due to end on Saturday. Until July 28th 2018, players will be able to get a Thundurus in Pokémon Sun and Ultra Sun or Tornadus in Pokémon Moon and Ultra Moon simply by going to a Target store and getting a Serial Code. These distributions differ between Sun & Moon and Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon with the Pokémon being Level 60 in Sun & Moon and Level 100 holding a Gold Bottle Cap in Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon. The next special Group Match has been announced on Pokkén Tournament DX. From August 3rd through August 5th you can participate in the "Deep Blue Monarch" Group Match. This cup is a Basic Battle competition, once again on a Fixed Battle Arena. Participating in this brings a special title reward based on Empoleon, and if you place highly you'll get other titles based on your placement.

The new Pokémon GO update has been pushed to devices. This update, Version 1.83.3 adds the feature of Lucky Pokémon, a new special feature where Pokémon when traded can become Lucky Pokémon. These have half Stardust requirements to Power Up. It also has the following features a
Friend List - You now have the ability to nickname your friends. There's also a new Sorting feature where you can sort friends by Name, Friendship Level or if they have a Gift for you. You can also check the PokéStop a received gift is from on the map
Gifts - You can now discard gifts if you do not wish to give a gift from a certain location or if you just want to clear your inventory. Sending gifts now gives 200XP and Stardust can now be received in gifts
Raid Battles - The list will now allow you to scroll if there are more than 6 Raid Battles nearby. The list will also now display the time remaining for raids which are active without you having to check the Gym
Pokémon List - You have the ability to search specifically for Traded Pokémon

Today marks the Pokémon GO Zapdos Day. On this day, for three hours in each region, Zapdos will appear exclusively in Raid Battles with a three hour timer at all gyms during the event. In addition to this, you will be able to get five free Raid Passes when you spin Gyms, but not able to get the next one until you've used one. With this, Zapdos can also now be found Shiny. This special event runs at these times:
Asia & Oceania: 03:00 UTC - 06:00 UTC (12:00 JST - 15:00 JST)
Europe: 09:00 UTC - 12:00 UTC (10:00 BST - 13:00 BST / 12:00 CET - 15:00 CET)

A new update has started going live for Pokémon GO. This update has started rolling out on the Play Store for Android and will be available to more players over the coming days, with iOS likely in a few days. This update contains a variety of fixes and features. They are as follows:
Lucky Pokémon - A new tag has been added for Pokémon in the Pokédex indicating a new style of Pokémon, Lucky Pokémon. At present it's not 100% clear what a Lucky Pokémon does differently or how it's determined.

There have been multiple reports coming through that the Alolan Form of Geodude has started to appear in the 7km Eggs received from friends in Pokémon GO. At present there are no signs of Alolan Diglett joining but we'll keep you updated as and when we can so be sure to keep checking back

Until July 22nd 2018, players will be able to get a Thundurus in Pokémon Sun and Ultra Sun or Tornadus in Pokémon Moon and Ultra Moon simply by going through Mystery Gift > Get Via Internet. These distributions differ between Sun & Moon and Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon with the Pokémon being Level 60 in Sun & Moon and Level 100 holding a Gold Bottle Cap in Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon. It has been confirmed that the Legendary Pokémon Registeel is to enter Raid Battles from later today in Pokémon GO. It will appear in all tier 5 Raid Battles until August 16th.

Early excerpts from an interview with Junichi Masuda in the Famitsu magazine have been released. In these excerpts, Masuda reiterates the statement that 2019's Pokémon game on Switch will be more akin to the previous handheld titles. However, in another excerpt when asked if Pokémon from Let's Go will go into the 2019 game, he states that he knows there was a time when players felt bad that they couldn't transfer their Pokémon forward (referring to when Ruby & Sapphire cut compatibility with Gold, Silver & Crystal) and that he is hoping to avoid that. This implies that the games will have some future compatibility with other Pokémon games, but at present is not set in stone and the method is not known

The smartphone game, Pokémon Duel, has had a new update. This patch takes it to version 6.0.13 and requires 247MB of space on your mobile device to download. It is required to update in order to play the game
This patch adds a new Team Match which has pre-registration live, focusing on the teams of Leafeon, Glaceon and Sylveon. This Team Match will give Time Boosters that may reward Shiny Eevee and Shiny Umbreon. Pre-registration is live until 08:00 UTC on July 20th while the battle period is from July 20th to July 23rd

Pokémon Sun, Moon, Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon - Tornadus & Thundurus Event

For those of you in the United States, the sixth month of the Legendary Pokémon Year events have begun. From now until July 28th 2018, players will be able to get a Thundurus in Pokémon Sun and Ultra Sun or Tornadus in Pokémon Moon and Ultra Moon simply by getting a Serial Code from Target stores. These distributions differ between Sun & Moon and Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon with the Pokémon being Level 60 in Sun & Moon and Level 100 holding a Gold Bottle Cap in Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon. Our Event Database has full details of this event.
This event is currently available in Europe across the Nintendo Network and Canada through the official Pokémon Trainer Club Newsletter later this month

It has been confirmed that, if players complete all the Global Challenges this weekend to tie in with GO Fest, it will unlock a unique Zapdos Day on July 21st 2018. During the three hour window on this day, all Gyms will have Zapdos Raid Battles. This Zapdos will have the Fast Move of Thunder Shock and will have a chance to be Shiny. Today marks the Pokémon GO Community Day. On this day, for three hours in each region, Squirtle will appear, enmass, in Pokémon GO with a chance of Shiny Squirtle appearing. During this event, when you evolve a Wartortle into Blasoise, it will know the move Hydro Cannon, which is exclusive to this event. This coincides with 25% Egg Walking Distance with captures and Lure Modules running for 3 hours. In addition to this, new bits of exclusive Event exclusive Field Research has started and will only appear during the event, which also includes the chance of getting a special Sunglasses wearing variant of Squirtle. This runs at these times:

A new event has been announced in Japan. If you purchase certain items at 7-11 in Japan, you will get a special clearfile based on the movie, Everyone's Story. However, you will also get a special serial code to give 100 Poké Balls to Ultra sun & Ultra Moon. To top it off, with the code, there's also a slim chance that instead of 100 Poké Balls, you will instead receive 99 Poké Balls and 1 Master Ball.

It has been confirmed by The Pokémon Company that, to tie in with the second anniversary event in Pokémon GO, the Pokémon storage maximum has been increased from 1,500 to 2,000 Pokémon. To reach this, you will need to purchase 10 additional Pokémon Storage Upgrades in the game's shop

The next special Group Match has begun on Pokkén Tournament DX. Until July 8th you can participate in the "Final Flicker" Group Match. This cup is a Basic Battle competition, once again on a Fixed Battle Arena. Participating in this brings a special title reward based on Chandelure, and if you place highly you'll get other titles based on your placement.

Pokémon Sun, Moon, Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon - Tornadus & Thundurus Event

For those of you in Europe and Oceania, the sixth month of the Legendary Pokémon Year events have begun. From now until July 22nd 2018, players will be able to get a Thundurus in Pokémon Sun and Ultra Sun or Tornadus in Pokémon Moon and Ultra Moon simply by going through Mystery Gift > Get Via Internet. These distributions differ between Sun & Moon and Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon with the Pokémon being Level 60 in Sun & Moon and Level 100 holding a Gold Bottle Cap in Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon. Our Event Database has full details of this event.
This event will be distributed in North America through Target from July 13th and Canada through the official Pokémon Trainer Club Newsletter later this month

Niantic have announced the next Pokémon GO event. This is the 2018 Anniversary event, running from July 6th at 20:00 UTC until July 31st and features increased Pikachu spawns in the wild and Pichu spawns in Eggs. However, in addition to this, special Summer Style Pikachu will also be available throughout the month. Finally, there's also a special avatar outfit focused on Pikachu that unlocks depending on how much of your Pikachu Fan medal you have completed. Finally, Niantic have confirmed that the Mythical Pokémon, Celebi, will be added to the game soon

Japanese TV Guides have revealed new episode titles for upcoming episodes of the anime. ThisThese episodes are due to air on July 26th, August 2nd and August 9th respectively. The first features Ash shrinking after an accident from an experiment by Faba. The second features Ash encountering Mina who can sense Pokémon's feelings but senses something in Poipole. The final episode features a Stakataka appear at the Pokémon School.

Details for the Yokosuka Safari Zone have been announced. This Safari Zone runs from August 29th through to September 2nd and has increased spawns of various Pokémon including Feebas, Torchic Unown and Tropius in three of the city parks: Mikasa, Verny, and Kurihama. It will also include Shiny Wingull. This event is a ticketed event and players can only attend one day. If players try to scan the special ticket for a second day, the Pokémon will not spawn for them. Applications open from July 6th until July 20th but, if they exceed capacity, will shift from being a guarantee to being selected by random

Pokémon Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon - Special Battle Season 11

The Special Battle rules for Season 11 have been revealed. Season 11 will run from July 10th to September 3rd 2018 and runs on Sun & Moon and Pokémon Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon, with rankings separate to eachother. This ruleset is rather standard but allows use of Mythical Pokémon, as well as standard Necrozma and Zygarde
Battle type: Single Battle
Pokémon Restrictions: National Pokédex. No Mewtwo, Lugia, Ho-Oh, Kyogre, Groudon, Rayquaza, Dialga, Palkia, Giratina, Arceus, Reshiram, Zekrom, Kyurem, Xerneas, Yveltal, Solgaleo, Lunala, Dusk Mane Necrozma, and Dawn Wings Necrozma cannot be used..
The other standard rules apply, including all set to Level 100 if above that, and you choose 3 Pokémon out of your 6, and you cannot have two Pokémon holding the same hold item. Battles have a 10 minute duration, with turns having a 60 second timer.

Niantic have announced the Pokémon GO Special Weekend in Japan. On the weekened of July 26th through 29th, there will be special events held at partner locations across Japan. These locations require purchasing a ticket at stores which then allow you to check in at participating sponsored PokéStops on the day. When at the event, from 10:00 to 20:00 JST on particular days, there will be increased spawns of various Pokémon and Double Experience for all participants with the spawns happening anywhere in Japan. Niantic have confirmed details for the Articuno Day on Saturday. In the same times as Community Day, players will be able to receive 5 Raid Passes from the Gym, as well as participate in raid battles against Articuno, with a chance of them being shiny. In addition to this, until 23:59 UTC tomorrow, Corsola and Roselia will have higher spawns in Europe as an apology for the Safari Zone event having issues on Saturday

The Ultra Challenge Stage is a stage for Guzzlord
The Great Challenge Stages are Hitmonchan, Gardevoir (Shiny), Landorus Therian Forme, Fennekin (Winking) & Araquanid
The Daily Pokémon are Oricorio Pom-Pom Style, Wishiwashi, Komala, Fomantis & Torracat
There's a One Chance Per Day stage for Jellicent (Female)
There's a Competitive stage for Mega Gardevoir

Following the success of the Pokémon GO Summer Challenge during the Dortmund Safari Zone event, the Global Challenge rewards are live until July 9th 2018 at 20:00 UTC, the special rewards of 3* Capture Experience, 2* Raid Experience, 3* Hatching Experience as well as 1 hour long Lucky Eggs are running. This will also include the special Articuno Day on Saturday July 7th. At present times aren't confirmed for North America or Europe, but in Japan it's set to run from 12:00 to 15:00 JST

A new event distribution has been announced for Japan. On leaflets in the Pokémon Centers in Japan it has been confirmed that the Mythical Pokémon Jirachi will once again be given away at the Pokémon Center in Tohoku from August 1st through August 31st to celebate the Tanabata Festival. It's currently unclear what moves or items the Jirachi has but we will post as we get further information
