Who's That Pokémon
Once again going into the 4th Generation Competitive Battling strategies, we are covering our eighty-first Pokémon. In celebration of the 10th anniversary of the US release of Pokémon Red & Blue this month, the Pokémon being covered today is Pikachu, the Mouse Pokémon. Pikachu is one of the Pokémon that has been available in every main game and has become the one Pokémon associated with the franchise by all. It stores electric charges in its cheeks. Since hold items came, it got a special item that boosted its Special Attack, and in DPPt, it's Attack & Special Attack. This makes it competitively viable. So here it is, the eighty-first featured Pokémon, Pikachu.

Pokémon Ranger: Shadows of Almia - European Release Date
Today, Nintendo of Europe unveiled their release schedule for the rest of the year. On this list, which has since been pulled from their official site, the release date of Pokémon Ranger: Shadows of Almia was revealed. For europeans, you will be able to get your hands on this game on 21st November 2008, just 11 days after the American release. This is especially handy as, if it follows suit with the Japanese and US games, there are special Wi-Fi missions that can give you some special Pokémon including Darkrai. Rotom Forme - Frost Forme Revealed Exclusive
Coronis has got his hands on Pokémon Platinum and so our coverage is beginning. In the game, there's a leaflet containing information regarding the new Pokémon forms. It confirms that they are Rotom as many predicted. The leaflet only reveals the first form, with others to come shortly when we extract data from the game. All the forms are accessible through the Secret Key after Rotom is captured at the Old Chateau and the formes it changes Rotom to depends on where you use the item. This form is called the Frost Forme. It is capable of knowing Blizzard. We'll bring you more info on this as and when it comes

Rotom Forme - Second Forme
As others are starting to get the game, other pics are starting to show up on the internet. This one has been posted of the leaflet in the game. It seems the leaflets arent specific and that all 5 of the formes will be shown. This forme seems to be a Water type, resembling a Washing Machine, but we cannot assertain the name from the blurred scan. We'll bring more as it comes
In The Games Department
Rotom Forme - Third Forme
Another of the leaflets has been revealed showing the third forme of Rotom with only two more to go. This forme seems to be an Flying type, resembling a Fan, and knowing Air Slash but we again cannot assertain the name from the blurred scan. We'll bring more as it comes
In The Games Department
Rotom Forme - Cut Forme
Another of the leaflets has been revealed showing the fourth forme of Rotom with only one more to go. This forme seems to be an Grass type, resembling a Lawn Mower, and knowing Leaf Storm. This time though, we know its name and its the Cut Rotom. We'll bring more as it comes
In The Games Department
Rotom Forme - Final Forme
And our coverage of the revelation of Rotom's new forms comes to an end with this fifth and final form. Resembling a Toaster, it has fire attributes and knows attacks such as Overheat. Again we cannot assertain the name. We'll bring stats and such asap

Missing Pokémon
As we play through the game, we are noticing many Pokémon are not available in the wild when they should be. These are missing Pokémon, every game has them. To that end, I have compiled a list of the Pokémon we know of so far. We'll keep this updated whenever we find some. Click the Pokédex Picture to check

Serebii.net DPPt Pokédex Updated
With thanks again to Arty2, we have updated our DP Pokédex to include the Level Up Moves and new Stats from Pokémon Platinum. These include the brand new forms and should be pinpoint correct. However, there may be a couple of little glitches. Only the Pokédex is updated at the moment. The Attackdex will be done within a day or so and we should have sprites soon. It also does not yet include the level up for Giratina Origin Forme or Rotom's alternate forms. We will get them as soon as possible. Click the picture to go to the Pokédex

Gym Stats
As I progress through the game, I am going to add to the site's sections as I go. For example, at time of writing, I have just beaten the first gym and so I have updated the gym page to include the Pokémon that Roark has and the puzzle of the gym. I will continually update this so keep checking back.

Platinum News
Today's episode of Pokémon Sunday in Japan, a variety show showing the fan-side of Pokémon and showing new things, reportedly had a showing of a bit in the Pokédex of Platinum. This showed that the 210 Sinnoh Dex rumour is confirmed and placed Froslass at #208 and Giratina at #210 in the Sinnoh Pokédex. It is unknown what other Pokémon are in this extention of the Sinnoh Dex, presumably the rest of the 4th Gen Pokémon and their releated Pokémon. We will keep you aprised on this and any related happenings

Who's That Pokémon
Once again going into the 4th Generation Competitive Battling strategies, we are covering our seventy-eigth Pokémon. The Pokémon being covered today is Staraptor, the Predator Pokémon. Staraptor is the final evolution of the Sinnoh Bird Pokémon; Starly & Staravia, found throughout the game and all around Sinnoh. It's a Pokémon that many of you will have used through your Diamond & Pearl games and probably will use again in Platinum. So here it is, the seventy-eighth featured Pokémon, Staraptor.

Diamond & Pearl Summaries
Coronis has once again kindly written the summaries for more of the chapters of the Pocket Monsters Special - Diamond & Pearl series that were released during his downtime this year. These summaries feature Dia, Pearl & Lady Berlitz as they travel through the land of Sinnoh partaking in gyms and contests and preventing Team Galactic from their evil tasks, this time focusing in the area around Hearthome City. The chapters that have been covered are Chapters 36 up to 43. Click the picture to go to the index page to read on. Be warned as these are in-depth and contain spoilers

Thursday: Game Mechanics - Transform04-09-2008- 15:46 BST / 10:46 EDT by Serebii
Sorry that I didn't add this to yesterday's update. I got sidetracked prepping things for Platinum and the Project as well as stuff away from the computer. I apologise. Should have episode pictures tomorrow and I expect new Platinum info next week prior to the game's release so be sure to check back

Transform
Recently, I have been asked a lot about the effects of Transform and how specifically it affects the Pokémon using it and the specifics of it within battle. With that in mind, I have created a page detailling the ins and outs of the attack; Transform. This should give you a clearer picture on how Transform works. Click the picture to go to the page

Pokémon Platinum - Sinnoh Dex Enhancement
A new advertisement advertising another bit of Pokémon Merchandise has given the implication that the Sinnoh Dex has been enhanced. According to it, there are 59 further Pokémon in Sinnoh to make the final amount 210. This does not mean for sure however that this is also true in Platinum, but it does seem likely due to many instances within the game such as Giratina being the mascot, Shaymin's Glacidia Flower being available early in the game and so forth. Chances are that these 59 Pokémon comprise of the new Pokémon that were not in the Sinnoh Dex in Diamond & Pearl and any pre-evolutions that they may have. We'll bring you more of this, and hopefully confirmation, when Platinum is released next week

No News
It is the calm before the storm. News has come to a relative halt. As such, I have been taking this time to prepare the site for the incoming Platinum coverage including having the Pokédex ready to be updated with the new data. The coverage will be quick as I will be focusing all my time on it and will post everything as and when we discover it. Do not worry as I'll prevent spoilers being posted directly on the main page. However, before then it is likely that we will get CoroCoro scans revealing new things, possibly including the revelation of the Sihlouetted Pokémon.
That said, despite this, I have also been hard at work on the project which is coming along nicely. I will also update tomorrow with another page that I've had people ask for, quite often recently in fact so be sure to check for that and possibly more tomorrow.
