A new event has been revealed for the US in Target stores through various signage. From May 11th, you'll be able to use a new app called Pokémon Pass, said to be used exclusively at Target, to scan a QR Code to obtain a serial code to receive a shiny Pikachu in Let's Go, Eevee! or a Shiny Eevee in Let's Go, Pikachu. This matches a distribution hitting Korea from tomorrow. Pokémon Pass is also to be used to show access to get special promotional bonuses including Detective Pikachu stickers and the upcoming Detective Pikachu Psyduck promo card. In a surprise release, Uxie, Mesprit and Azelf have started to appear in Pokémon GO. Unlike most of the Legendary Pokémon in the past, they are spawning in the wild but in very rare amounts and they appear to be Regional with Azelf having only been reported in America, Mesprit in Europe and Uxie only in Japan at present and they spawn near bodies of water, but we are currently investigating further

Pokémon Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon - Battle Competition
Details for the next Battle Competition have been announced. This is the 2019 International Challenge May competition and is for non-Japan Regions. This is a Double Battle competition using standard 2019 VGC rules where players can use 2 Restricted Pokémon (Mewtwo, Lugia, Ho-Oh, Groudon, Kyogre, Rayquaza, Dialga, Palkia, Giratina, Reshiram, Zekrom, Kyurem, Xerneas, Yveltal, Zygarde, Cosmog, Cosmoem, Solgaleo, Lunala & Necrozma) and is based on the Ultra Series where both Z-Crystals and Mega Evolutions are allowed. This competition also offers CP to the highest ranked players to give players the opportunity to go to the World Championships. All Pokémon will be raised to Level 50 for the duration of the competition. Registration runs from May 16th - 23rd. Battles will run from May 24th - 26th. All entrants who play 3 or more matches will get a Shiny Tapu Fini which will be distributed some time in June

A new event has been announced for South Korea. This event provides a distribution to Let's Go, Pikachu! & Let's Go, Eevee! players. If you purchase the games from participating retailers in May, you will receive a special Serial Code for a Shiny Pikachu for Let's Go, Pikachu! or a Shiny Eevee for Let's Go, Eevee! If you have the games already, you can receive the Serial Code at the Pokémon Festa event running in Korea from May 3rd - May 12th if you show the staff your Switch with the game installed, the game cartridge or a Poké Ball Plus.
If you have Let's Go, Pikachu, you'll get a Shiny Pikachu that's Level 10 with the moves Thunderbolt, Quick Attack, Iron Tail, and Helping Hand
If you have Let's Go, Eevee, you'll get a Shiny Eevee that's level 10 with the moves Double-Edge, Dig, Iron Tail, and Helping Hand

With this, from this point onwards, you can now open Mystery Boxes once every 3 days rather than once every 7 days. Shiny Meltan and Melmetal can then be sent to Pokémon Let's Go, Pikachu! & Let's Go, Eevee! After the event ends, you'll be unable to get Shiny Meltan and Shiny Melmetal until the next run of an event featuring them.

The Pokémon Detective Pikachu (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) has been added to pre-order on Amazon iTunes and Google Play Store, set to become available on May 3rd 2019 to stream and download and on CD on May 9th in the US or May 10th in the UK. The soundtrack runs for 59 minutes and is composed by Henry Jackman. This soundtrack is for more instrumental music from the movie and doesn't include the tracks Carry On by Kygo featuring Rita Ora and Electricity by HONEST BOYZ feat. Lil Uzi Vert.

From 6am local time today to 10pm local time tomorrow, Shuckle will be spawning in greater numbers in your area and with it, Shiny Shuckle can now be captured. A special pop-up has been announced for Detective Pikachu in London by Warner Bros. On May 3rd and May 4th, a two floor space will be available for people to join in with various activities. On the ground floor, you can get Detective Pikachu printed coffee and hot chocolate, yellow turmeric latte or yellow bubble tea at a special Coffee Bar. In the basement, there are interactive karaoke booths and nail art stands. It also includes various activities including recharge yoga, Detective Pikachu Cupcake Icing, Psyduck inspired relaxtion head & shoulder massages and Mr. Mime inspired miming classes. This event is a ticketed event and tickets will become available next week

The Special Raid Week in Pokémon GO has begun! Until 20:00 UTC on April 22nd, Latios will join Giratina in Raid Battles as a Level 5 Raid Boss. With this, Latios will be available Shiny as a possibility in raids and Level 5 Raid Eggs are more common during this time.

Niantic have detailed the process that'll be used to purchase tickets for Pokémon GO Fest Chicago 2019. When it begins, you'll be able to enter into a drawing to get tickets through the app under the Events section in the Main Menu. From there you can Enter the draw. If you win a place you'll be notified by e-mail and then have the ability to then Claim Tickets through the same section and select the date, time and amount of tickets you wish to buy. This has to be done within 48 hours and will be done in waves until all tickets are sold. These tickets then are shared with your other designated players but you have to be Great Friends in order to send them the ticket. At present details are not yet known for when they will start being available but we'll post further details as they come.

A new feature has been announced for the next TCG Set in Japan. This set is now implementing the Z-Crystals into the TCG as Pokémon Tools with GX attacks, but they can only be utilised on Pokémon that know a certain move. This specific example only works on Pokémon that know the move Tackle. We have added all details of this card into our Trading Card Game section for the upcoming set, Sky Legend

Today marks the Pokémon GO Community Day. On this day, for three hours in each region, Bagon will appear, enmass, in Pokémon GO with a chance of Shiny Bagon appearing. From April 15th - 24th is theBuddy Challenge where you take photos with your Buddy Pokémon
April 29th - May 8th is the Habitat Challenge where you take a photo with a Pokémon in its natural habitat
May 13th - 22nd is the GO Create challenge which is open in motif
Entries are to be posted on Twitter or Instagram with the hashtags #GOSnapshot and the particular challenge of which it is a part. Pokémon Sword & Shield - Strongest Steel Move Contest
Following yesterday's reveal of the CoroCoro campaign to name a brand new move in the Japanese version of Pokémon Sword & Shield, CoroCoro has put out some further details on their website about the contest. As said, the contest requires there to be no more than 8 characters of Katakana, Hiragana or English and has to not have been used previously in the game. The winner is not determined based on popularity but by decision from the developers. If multiple people suggest the same name, then the overall winner will be decided by random lottery. To enter, you need to send in a special post card which comes with this month's issue of CoroCoro, due out on April 15th. The deadline for entries is May 10th

A new joke trailer has been released for the upcoming live-action movie, Pokémon - Detective Pikachu, which is due for global release on May 10th 2019. This new teaser trailer showcases various Pokémon including the first proper looks at Eevee, Purrloin, Torterra and Sneasel. We're currently awaiting an official upload. With this, it confirms that another Detective Pikachu promo card will be available when you see the movie in cinemas. Tickets are now starting to be available in the US so be sure to check your local theater

The first details are starting to come from CoroCoro, with translations being tentative while we await screenshots. In CoroCoro there is a contest to name a brand new move. This is open to Japanese residents. This move has the following bits of data Type: Steel Category: Special Damage: 140 Effect: Does major damage but reduces user's Hit Points by 50%
The entries are needing to be no more than 8 characters long using Katakana, Hiragana or English characters and people have until May 10th 2019 to enter. The overall winner will receive both Pokémon Sword & Pokémon Shield while 20 runners up will get one copy of the game
At present we have no further information on how to enter but expect that to be officially shown in the next few days or when we get clear images of the magazine so be sure to keep checking back

There are also some special bonuses. At weekends, a special Time Booster will be available. Honedge, Doublade and Aegislash are also scheduled to appear through the Player Pass system within April. Niantic have announced two new elements coming to Pokémon GO. After being found in the datamine and listed in the app's update notes, Lucky Friends have been confirmed. Lucky Friends are a new level of friendship that can only occur when you're Best Friends. Each time you have your daily interaction with a Best Friend, you have a chance of becoming Lucky Friends and will have a note by them on your friend list and in their screen stating that they are Lucky Friends. With this, the next trade you make will be guaranteed to be a Lucky Trade and you will stop being Lucky Friends. There's no limit to how many Lucky Friends you can have at one time
They have also confirmed various poses will be added for Trainers. These alter the way your character stands in lists, your profile page and in battle akin to similar poses introduced in Pokémon Sun & Moon. You can obtain these poses in the shop for 500 coins per pose. We have updated our Style Section with all available poses

Last week, Niantic announced their Earth Day 2019 collaboration event where, if enough people participate in cleanup events worldwide, there will be a variety of bonuses. However, now thanks to the Pokémon GO Newsletter, we hae dates for the tie in. The event will be held from April 29th 2019 to May 2nd 2019. The rewards are as follows:
If 2000 attend, there will be an increased appearance of Ground-type Pokémon.
If 5,000 attend, then there will be an increased appearance of Ground-type Pokémon and shiny Diglett will become available

This cup is a Basic Battle competition, once again on a Fixed Battle Arena. The next special Group Match has been announced on Pokkén Tournament DX. From April 19th through April 21st, you can participate in the "Sonic Slash" Group Match. This cup is a Team Battle competition, once again on a Fixed Battle Arena. Participating in this brings a special title reward based on Weavile, and if you place highly you'll get other titles based on your placement. If you already received the title from the last time it ran, you will not receive it again

A Japanese TV Guide has revealed the next episode of the Pokémon Sun & Moon anime. This episode is due to air on May 5th. It features a wild Kyogre appear when they're by the sea, only for the group to find out it is being hunted

The Pokémon Company International have announced that the new series of the anime, currently airing on Disney XD in the US and various other channels worldwide, is now available on Google Play, iTunes and Amazon to purchase in the US. Niantic have confirmed their schedule of Real Life events this summer. For the first time, a Pokémon GO Fest will be outside of the US with Pokémon GO Fest being in Dortmund. Here's a list of all the details Pokémon GO Fest - Grant Park, Chicago, Illinois - June 13th - June 16th 2019
The GO Fest in Chicago will include new Special Research, GO Snapshot Photo spots and more rewards that players both at the park and globally work towards. Further details will come in the next few months. Attendees can only purchase tickets ($25 per person) for one of the four days and only through a portal in the Pokémon GO app coming later this month. Pokémon Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon - Battle Competition
Registration for the next Battle Competition has begun. This is the Pokémon Japan Championships 2019 competition and is for Japan only. This is a Double Battle competition using standard 2019 VGC rules where players can use 2 Restricted Pokémon (Mewtwo, Lugia, Ho-Oh, Groudon, Kyogre, Rayquaza, Dialga, Palkia, Giratina, Reshiram, Zekrom, Kyurem, Xerneas, Yveltal, Zygarde, Cosmog, Cosmoem, Solgaleo, Lunala & Necrozma) and is based on the Ultra Series where both Z-Crystals and Mega Evolutions are allowed. This competition offers a chance to qualify to the Japan Championships inside Japan. All Pokémon will be raised to Level 50 for the duration of the competition. Registration runs from April 4th - April 19th. Battles will run from April 19th - April 22nd. All entrants who play 3 or more matches will get a Shiny Tapu Fini which will be distributed some time in May

This is the Bug Out event and features increased Bug-type Pokémon spawns, Incense running for 60 minutes with more Pokémon spawns within, Bug-type Pokémon focused field research and more. It runs until Tuesday April 9th 20:00 UTC. We're currently adding all elements of this event as and when we get them so be sure to keep checking our section

Today, Detective Pikachu got confirmed to be coming to China on the same day as most of the world, May 10th. With that, a new poster got released with a different style, showcasing many of the Pokémon within the movie. With this, a new trailer was released. Following the surprise release of the Original Cap Pikachu through Photobomb in Pokémon GO's GO Snapshot feature on Sunday, as it's now hitting April 3rd in various time zones, it appears that Smeargle has now returned to being the focus which indicates that you have until 23:59 local time to get any Ash Cap Pikachu through this method. The ruleset for all Video Game Championships events has changed as of today. From today, all VGC events, as well as the Championship Battle mode on Battle Spot will be running the Ultra Series GS Cup rules. Following the surprise release of the Original Cap Pikachu through Photobomb in Pokémon GO's GO Snapshot feature yesterday, The Pokémon Company and TV Tokyo have announced a small competition where if you send in your AR Photo featuring Pikachu with the Original Cap on Twitter using the hashtags #GOsnapshot & #アニポケ, while following the official Japanese Pokémon GO Twitter there's a chance that it'll be shown in a segment that airs with the episode of the Pokémon Sun & Moon anime on Sunday April 7th on TV Tokyo in Japan. A new Queen's Cup event has begun in Pokémon Duel. This event ties in with the April Fools prank of turning Bidoof figures into ultra powerful figures when being used by the AI but unobtainable for normal players. This Queen's Cup runs 24 hours until 08:00 UTC on April 2nd and provides a mask at 100 win points. Reward redemption lasts until April 5th

TV-kun has revealed new episode titles for upcoming episodes of the anime. These episodes are due to air on April 14th, 21st and 28th respectively. The first episode features Shaymin, Meltan and Eevee get lost in Malie City after Mallow's hair ornament gets blown away. The second episode features Ash & co. entering the special Kanto style Gym in Malie City. The third episode features Sophocles entering a race with his Vikavolt in order to win a Buginium Z, only for Team Rocket to show up with the intent to take a Vikavolt

All 48 episodes of the most recently completed series of the Pokémon anime, Pokémon the Series Sun & Moon Ultra Adventures are now available on Netflix in the US, UK and various other countries. This follows on from the recent removal of the XY, XY Kalos Quest and XY&Z saga from the service. This requires a Netflix subscription to watch.
