Battles for the Pokémon Scarlet & Violet Global Challenge 2025 IV Online Competition have now begun. This competition runs the current Regulation G ruleset and is the final of the seven competitions to earn Championship Points
Battles run from 00:00 UTC on April 11st through 23:59 UTC on April 13th.
This competition also gives 100,000 League Points, a Gold Bottle Cap and an Ability Patch to all players who complete 3 or more battles and provides Championship Points to the highest ranked players, and invites to qualifiers for local competitions in Japan and South Korea

The Pokémon Company have fully revealed all standard cards for the next Japanese Pokémon TCG set, Glory of Team Rocket. This includes over 50 cards that were unrevealed with Pokémon including Team Rocket's Houndoom and more

Following the accidental reveal of it in a newsletter a few days ago, Niantic has announced the next Pokémon GO event. This event is Sweet Discoveries and is due to run from April 24th at 10:00 to April 29th at 20:00 local time and adds Applin, Flapple & Appletun into the game
Applin will evolve into Flapple and Appletun with 200 Candy and 20 of each Apple: Tart Apple for Flapple and Sweet Apple for Appletun. Apples can be found on the screen when on the map. Apples on the map can also be Applin encounters
You have 2* Catch Candy
Increase chance of getting Shiny Delibird, Skowvet and Cherubi
Catching Delibird and Skwovet will get Berries
Apples will appear more at Mossy Lure Modules
Alolan Rattata, Abra, Bellsprout, Delibird, Gulpin, Bidoof, Munna, Bounsweet, Skwovet, Snorlax, Shuckle and Komala will spawn in the wild
Delibird, Cherubi, Munchlax and Skwovet will be in 7km Eggs
There will be Field Research for encounters of event Pokémon
There will be free Timed Research to get encounters, a Mossy Lure Module, a Tart Apple and a Sweet Apple
There will be paid Timed Research to get 2 Mossy Lure Modules and encounters with event Pokémon including Delibird, Skwovet & Applin

Niantic have announced the next Pokémon GO Max Battle Weekend. On April 26th & 27th, Dynamax Entei will be in Max Battles. During the event you can get up to 1600 Max Particles a day, 25% distance to get Max particles and you get 8 Max Particles from Power Spots. There will be Timed Research from April 21st to April 26th you will get free Timed Research which gives a Dynamax Sobble and rewards to prepare

Pokémon GO

Niantic have announced a new feature, the Stamp Rally. With this feature, when you reach a PokéStop that is eligible for it, you will get a Stamp Sheet and when you go to specific PokéStops, you will be able to get a stamp for your stamp sheet. Like with actual Stamp Rallies, the appearance changes based on how long you press it. If you collect all the stamps, you can get items or encounters.
This first Stamp Rally is live in Osaka as part of the Expo 2025 - Osaka Kansai which runs from April 13th through October 23rd 2025
Edit @ 10:18: A second Stamp Rally will go live in Suita City around Pokémon GO Fest Osaka in May 29th 2025. It won't expire
The Stamp Rally is also planned to be added to the PokéLids across Japan, as well as through other events. The PokéLid stamp rally will use the PokéLid designs as the stamp but will also have a cooperative Stamp Rally style display so you can send stamps to friends

The newest Mega Evolution focused Raid Day is rolling out in Pokémon GO. For three hours in each region, Mega Audino will appear in Raids on each Gym in the area, adding Audino into the game.
With this, you will get up to 5 extra Raid Passes from Gyms and can participate in up to 20 Remote Raid a day. You will also have a higher chance of finding shiny Audino after completion of the raid. There is also free Timed Research for all players
A paid ticket is also available that gives increased experience as well as another 8 additional free Raid Passes from Gyms.

During the Nintendo Switch 2 Nintendo Direct, it was confirmed that the Gamecube is to be added to Nintendo Switch Online for Nintendo Switch 2 players. The second of the Pokémon feat. Hatsune Miku Project Voltage High songs has been released. This is "Facade Question" by Satsuki with a special music video with various visuals focused around the Vocaloid Kasane Teto, a special Vocaloid originally made as an April Fool's joke. This song is part of this year's April Fool's Joke which also featured the addition of artwork of Kasane Teto as a Rival trainer with Meloetta Pirouette Forme.

A new trainer has been added to Pokémon Masters EX's Trainer Lodge. From now on, if you have obtained Lacey & Granbull already, you have the ability to invite Lacey into the Trainer Lodge and befriend her. If you get the Friendship Level to 100, you will now be able to get the new Sync Pair, Lacey & Alcremie (Ruby Cream - Blueberry Sweet). We have updated our Trainer Lodge Topics page to include the points each topic will give you when you speak to Lacey
Alongside this, a new Poké Fair Scout is now live allowing you to get the sync pair of Volo & Togepi. This runs until May 1st 2025

The Pokémon GO Pass: April has been announced for players in certain places in the world. This will run from April 1st through May 6th 2025. Like the GO Tour Pass, there's a free version and a paid version which gives more rewards
The GO Pass gives encounters with Xerneas and other Pokémon, Stardust, Experience, Poké Balls, Candy and more. If you upgrade you'll get a Lucky Trinket, Candy XL, Premium Battle Pass, Incense, Lucky Eggs, Incubators and Lure Modules
As you reach certain milestones, you'll get 2* Daily Adventure Incense Duration, Increased Experience and Stardust from Research Breakthroughs and increased Stardust and experience from hatching eggs

It runs in all islands with different boosted spawns depending on the island.

The "Pasio Academy Opening" Academy Event has begun a run in Pokémon Masters EX. This event is the first Academy Event where you get given a Sync Pair, in this case Rosa & Deerling, and have to battle through stages to earn Orbs in order to power them up. It runs until April 18th
To tie in with that, a new Poké Fair Scout is available to get the Sync Pair of Lacey & Granbull. A second Costume Scout is also live to get Rei (Academy) & Hisuian Braviary.

For three hours in each region, unique Field Research will appear at PokéStops which will give players encounters with Teddiursa, Cubchoo, Pancham & Stufful. During this event, you will have a higher chance of encountering the Pokémon as Shiny and there is paid Timed Research to get even more encounters
