Gift Pokémon
Like past Pokémon games, there are numerous Pokémon that you don't get by capturing, but rather by a person kindly giving you the Pokémon. This is often the easiest way to get most of these Pokémon and in some cases, the only way.
Chikorita, Tepig & Oshawott |
Location: Lumiose City When you first arrive in the city, your bag gets stolen by a Pancham as you're helping Taunie/Urbain with a video. While making chase, you get challenged to a battle and Taunie/Urbain recommend you take one of the Pokémon to battle. After the battle, this Pokémon becomes your Partner Pokémon

Absol |
Location: Lumiose City After defeating the Rogue Mega Absol in battle and learning about Mega Evolution, the Absol will come to you and thank you, then joining you on your journey

Chespin |
Location: Academié Etoile During Request #7, a Fiesty Chespin, you will find a Chespin that is blocking the taxi. It is an eager Chespin that wants to battle and Defeat it three times and they'll suggest that you get the Chespin.

Fennekin |
Location: Magenta Sector 2 During Request #8, Get Well, Fennekin, an ill Fennekin is found on the side of the road. It is your task to find a Revitalizing Twig to help restore it. This item can be found in Wild Zone 5 among the Venipede and Alpha Whirlipede. Return with the Revitalizing Twig and it will join you

Froakie |
Location: Jaune Sector 8 During Request #9, A Challenge from Froakie, you will meet with a construction worker who mentions that Froakie is the champion at climbing up their scaffolding courses. Froakie challenges you to compete to beat its time. First is 30 seconds, but then a second course needs to be completed in 40 seconds and a final course on North Boulevard needs to be completed in 50 seconds. Complete all three and Froakie will join you.

Spewpa |
Location: Lumiose Museum During Request #21, Spewpa in the Museum, you will be given the task of finding the 12 Spewpa that are located throughout the museum. They can be found amongst all the exhibits throughout the area. Once all 12 have been collected, you will be thanked and as they're counted, a thirteenth has appeared. Stunned, the staff offer it to you as they can't look after more Spewpa. This Spewpa will evolve into the Marine Pattern Vivillon

Location: Pokémon Research Lab During Request #22, A Call from Mable, you will receive a call to go to the Pokémon Research Lab. While there, Mable says she is following her predecessors work and is giving Pokémon to gifted trainers she finds. She asks for you to pick between Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle.

Aerodactyl, Tyrunt & Amaura |
Location: Pokémon Research Lab During Request #27, Restored from a Fossil, you will be asked by a man to buy a Jaw or Sail Fossil and bring it to he lab. He will turn the fossil into the Pokémon for you. As a thanks, hew ill give you the Pokémon you recovered This can be repeated ad infinatum as long as you have fossils. and after the first fossils, each fossil has a 1% chance of being an Alpha Pokémon and it can be shiny.

Galarian Stunfisk |
Location: Wild Zone 11 During Request #72, Find My Galarian Stunfisk!, you will be given a task to hunt for a Galarian Stunfisk that is hiding as a Poké Ball. It can be found on the coast in the south part of the zone. When encountered, the trainer says that the Stunfisk has actually been searching for a good trainer and offers it to you.

Lucario |
Location: Hotel Z After completing the story and AZ's passing, when you return to your room in Hotel Z, you will find a Poké Ball on the table. Pick it up and you will learn it's a Lucario that AZ has left you, alongside a note dwelling on how things have gone. He thanks you for your help and mentions the Lucario once belonged to a friend of his, Korrina.

Floette |
Location: Quasartico Inc. After completing the story and battling 15 times in the Infinite Royale, you will get to battle Taunie/Urbain. After defeating them, Emma will summon you and Jett and explain that they both had her looking for someone, the same person. She explains that Jett is Taunie's grandmother and Jett, apologising for what happened to Lumiose City, steps down from Quasartico Inc. and recommends Taunie/Urbain become the new CEO. They accept and, as they can no longer have time to battle, asks Floette to join you so it can continue protecting Lumiose City. She also gives you the Floettite.
