First, the Research Breakthrough Reward has been announced. From January 1st 2020 at 21:00 UTC to February 1st 2020 at 21:00 UTC you'll get a Lapras that know Ice Shard or Ice Beam
Next it has been confirmed that facing Giovanni in January will result in Shadow Moltres being available
A new event has been announced, the Adventure Sync Hatchathon. It runs from January 2th through to January 16th and provides players with extra Stardust, Rare Candies, and a Unova Stone if you walk a certain distance as well as Pokémon wearing party hats
Heatran will return to Raid Battles from January 7th 2020 to February 4th 2020 with Shiny Heatran being available from then

At present it's unclear for how long this will run, if it's just for the Holiday 2019 event or will last for a while but we'll provide further information when it comes.

The first game is Pokémon Tower Battle, a game developed by Bombay Play which has you stack many Pokémon to create the tallest tower. As you complete building the towers, you unlock more Pokémon and even level them up. It is available worldwide
Pokémon Medallion Battle is an online variant of a similar arcade game and has you battle special Pokémon Medallions in a strategy game akin to Pokémon Duel, TCG and so forth. You collect the Pokémon, win Gym Badges and new Pokémon are introduced into the game every month. At the moment it's only available in Asia Pacific excluding Oceania and Vietnam

A new update has dropped for Pokémon Masters. This update brings the game to Version 1.5 and, along with setting up the events for the next month introduces a variety of new features:
Adds new Bingo Mission content
Adds new feature allowing for animations of characters
Alters play to lower heat of device while playing
Increases loading time but decreases battery
Increases speed of Co-op battles
Lowers Supercourses to the bottom of the list if they can no longer be played
Adds a party search for co-op and a method to replay co-op stages quicker
Now displays action order
Daily Vouchers are to be added as of 06:00 UTC on December 26th with new items being added to the Item Exchange. This allows for you to level up your player character with Pikachu
Supercourses can now be replayed only once but offer triple the rewards
Super Hard difficulty will be added to Co-Op stages as of January 8th 2020 at 06:00 UTC

A while back, Niantic announced a new variant of Buddy Pokémon which utilise interactions in a similar manner to Pokémon Amie, Pokémon Refresh and Pokémon Camp in the main games, and a video was released showing this. Today, Pokémon GO Taiwan posted a video promoting this upcoming feature. At present it isn't clear when this feature will go live but we will cover it in full when it is.

First you increase your friendship with your buddy by petting, feeding, snapshots, battling and walking with them. With this, each Pokémon has got certain milestones you can do each day including the above and even visiting a new Poké Stop while it is your buddy. When you do this, your Pokémon has the excited mood and you'll earn candy twice as fast while walking with it, hearts will be doubled per action and trainers can earn bonus hearts
There are different levels of Buddy:
Good Buddy - It joins you on the map
Great Buddy - It appears in encounters to give you help, and will bring you items
Ultra Buddy - It'll bring you souvenirs from nearby places that are then found on your profile page
Best Buddy - It'll have a special ribbon and will have a CP boost when assigned as your buddy.
This feature is set to roll out by 2020. There will also be a feature in a Shared AR experience with other player's Buddy Pokémon coming in 2020

Today marks the first day of the Pokémon GO Community Day Weekend. Today, from 9am to 9pm local time, all Pokémon from this year's Community Days will have increased spawns
The following Pokémon will appear in raids: Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, Pikachu, Eevee, Dratini, Chikorita, Cyndaquil, Mareep, Larvitar, and Beldum
The following Pokémon will appear more in Eggs: Bulbasaur, Charmander, Pikachu, Dratini, Totodile, Mareep, Swinub, Larvitar, Treecko, Torchic, Slakoth, and Bagon
There is also new Special Research available during the event, Celebrate 2019
All Pokémon who have had a Community Day in 2018 or 2019 will have their Community Day exclusive move upon capture or evolution during this time frame
From 11am to 2pm local time the following will happen:
50% Egg Distance, 2* Capture Experience, 2* Capture Stardust
Totodile, Swinub, Treecko, Torchic, Slakoth, and Bagon will have even further increased spawns

A new web series has been announced. This series is to be called Pokémon Twilight Wings and will appear on YouTube from January 15th 2020 at 13:00 UTC and will feature 7 episodes which will air monthly. This series features various short animated shorts based around the goings on of the people from the Galar Region. This version brings the game up to Version 1.63.0 and contains a variety of fixes and even includes a new splash screen to coincide with the upcoming winter event. The latest Pokémon Masters event has begun. This event is Rosa's Party and is the special Holidays event. With this event, the Sync Pairs of Rosa (Holidays) & Delibird and Siebold (Holidays) & Octillery are now available with Sync Pair Scouting while there is a special Story Event set of stages and a Log In Bonus Rally giving 300 Gems a day. This event runs until January 1st 2020

A new event has also been announced for Pokémon Masters. This event, Special Present, is a special Story event that will run for one day only from December 24th 2019 at 06:00 UTC to December 25th 2019 at 05:59 UTC. This story event will reward players with 1000 Gems on the first clear. Players will need to have beaten Chapter 5 and Rosa's Party: The Joy of Cooking story in order to play in this event

Today, some official reveals for various Pokémon in Sword & Shield came. With this, we got confirmation that the current Wild Area event which features Gigantamax Snorlax, Butterfree and for Sword: Drednaw & Sandaconda and Shield: Corviknight & Centiskorch will run until January 9th 2020 and not the previous date shared by Nintendo America of January 5th 2020

Pokémon GO
Niantic have the rulesets for the upcoming GO Battle League. Battles will take place in all three leagues and will rotate throughout the season. Your rank will increase from Rank 1 up to Rank 10 as you battle through. The higher the rank the better the reward and once you reach a rank you can't be removed from it for the season. You can't have more than one of the same species at the same time
They also have plans changed the battle system to come soon. Here, when two Charge Attacks go off at the same time, the Pokémon with the highest Attack stat will go first. Switching removes any stat buffs/debuffs
They have also changed the following moves for Trainer Battles:
Night Slash - Now has a chance to increase the user's Attack
Icy Wind - Now lowers the opponent's Attack
Hydro Cannon - Has decreased damage
Frustration & Return - Has increased damage but take longer to chrge
Mud-Slap - Damage has been increased for Trainer Battles and Gyms
Sand Tomb - Charges quicker and decreases opponent's Defense. Can now be learned by Forretress, Torterra, Garchomp and Gliscor
Earthquake - Increased damage in Gyms and Raids
Overheat, Draco Meteor and Psychic Boost charge quicker but lower your Attack two stages after use. Damage has been lowered
Close Combat - Charges quicker but decreases your own Defense
Some new moves have also been added:
Octazooka - Learned by Octillery & Kingdra - May lower opponent's Attack 2 stages
Mirror Shot - Learned by Forretress, Magnezone, Ferrothorn, Klinklang - May lower opponent's Attack
Fell Stinger - Learned by Beedrill, Qwilfish, Vespiquen & Dragpion - Increases user's Attack
Aura Sphere - Learned by Lucario

The new event has started in Pokémon Rumble Rush. This event, Happy Owlidays!, is focused on an island based around Rowlet and contains various new Pokémon, new Gears and more including Festive Hat Pikachu, Rowlet, Litten and Popplio. It runs for two weeks, until December 25th. As such, we're currently compiling everything about this new event and so this update and our Rumble Rush section will be updated with details over the coming days

Niantic have announced the Pokémon GO details for the next month. First, from December 16th, different Pokémon will start appearing in eggs.
Next, Virizion enters Raid Battles on December 17th until January 7th
A special Lugia & Ho-Oh Raid Weekend will run from December 20th through December 23rd
A Holidays 2019 event will run from December 24th 00:00 local time zone to January 1st 23:59 local time zone. This features Pichu, Pikachu & Raichu wearing Beanies and Stantler wearing bells. Cubchoo and various Ice-type Pokémon will spawn more, Cryogonal will appear only in Glacial Lures. Shiny Stantler and Shiny Snover will also appear. New Shadow Pokémon will also appear during the event including Delibird. There's also special winter themed avatar items, event field research. 7km Eggs will feature Alolan Sandshrew, Alolan Vulpix, Pikachu in a beanie and Stantler with Bells. Raid Battles will include Raichu wearing a beanie and Stantler wearing Bells in 2 star eggs
Special bonuses will also run during this event. You can open 40 gifts a day and carry 20 gifts at a time and you'll get one guaranteed single use Incubator a day from a Poké Stop. There are also special bonuses
